Anyone know where to find emergency brake cable for a 458? Local shop can’t find. New ECU having trouble calibrating even though cable is one year old. Substitutes?

Possible the cable has been adjusted incorrectly. If I remember right there is a beding in procedure, and if the cable tension is not mechanical set correctly it will fail calibration. Its such a stupid system. Overly complicated for such a basic operation.

I have never seen the cables cause this but seen many blame the cable. The parking brake shoes must be properly adjusted and the system is very sensitive to the adjustment in order to pass calibration. Even following the directions you may need to tighten slightly or loosen slightly to fall into the window the system wants to see to pass calibration. Ensure the shoes have not come apart and lost the material, common especially where road salt is used.

Super! Thank you for your reply. Ended up replacing brake shoes, working well now. The mechanic said same thing about adjustment. A manual emergency brake would be nice!
