You’re comparing static exhaust sounds. Very different when under load. The argument has been about how negatively GPF has affected 812 sound. Here is a simple video recorded a while ago just with an iPhone - much better in reality. This sound just cannot be considered anything other than great IMV. I don’t say it’s the best (I already said what is) but it’s as engaging as our non-GPF Superfast, if a little different. The 599 doesn’t have downchanges like that either.

Can't the GPF be removed or punched out? Where I live, no inspections are done.

Part of the fun is trying to imagine what they will do, but you can also make yourself crazy. They could be testing different options, they’ve done that in the past. Or they could just be making it look like there is a fuel filler/ charging port/ in certain places. There’s nothing to say they are not all false clues. Im excited to see what they come up with.

I for one am more impressed with the GTS sound than I thought I would be. It will always sound better than the 812 or F12….with the top down.

When is the launch for f167? I tried reading thru the 160+ pages still confused about whether its gonna be NA comp engine or a hybrid
I dont think opf detract from the v12 as much as a plug in or a haptic steering wheel

You want to compare Massa at Fiorano with a hand-held iPhone in the cabin driving a few country roads? Have you driven a GTS at full chat? The sound is still fantastic, despite the GPF, and the downchanges are actually better than on F12 IMO.

Somebody else posted a comparison using Shmee which is also hilarious. A SF in a tunnel with the windows open against a GTS with roof down, microphone picking up wind noise and driving on open road, not quite the same thing is it. And any static rev comparisons are completely worthless unless you use your cars for that purpose.

And for those asking, the relevance to this thread is fair - the F167 will have GPF and will have haptic controls. Can it therefore be considered the ultimate V12 Ferrari and is it worth your dollars? I reckon the answer will be yes.

I can imagine Ferrari saying this is the last V12 and plotting secretly a brand new V12 ..
They aren’t enough stupid to eliminate the core soul of this brand..

I could imagine the V12 becoming a lot rarer though. Maybe limited to Icona series and taking advantage of any low volume exemptions that occur. It could well be that F167 is the last chance to buy a ‘reasonably’ priced V12 from Ferrari.

Part of the problem is that nobody really knows how the laws will settle come 2030. UK government is currently making noises about becoming more relaxed. There was an election for Boris Johnson’s seat with the government holding the seat unexpectedly. The issue was over Sadiq Khan’s ULEZ extension to Greater London. The message is clear - eco tyranny (as opposed to eco rules that make sense) loses votes. It’s about time too.

For some of us its not about ultimate performance and new toys. Hence why I hope the V12 continues as long as possible. Ferrari might have learnt from Lamborghini the value of the V12 and how the Revuelto has done so well and probably dont want to eliminate the gravy train which is V12

ou can better see in these photos the almost 4 cm shorter between the end of the front wheel and that of the windshield.
You can also see that the cabin is a little more centered, although in the profile photo the seat is moved back to the max.
What you can't see is the tachometer:D:)!!!

How could they have found that space? I think it will make the car drive differently but where does it come from? Either engine is further back, invading the cabin, or the engine is shorter. I don’t think they will have moved it further forward relative to the front axle. One way of saving the 4cm is to delete the belts and pulleys….which means hybrid (something that is not supposed to be happening)? The other way is less capacity - also needing hybrid to maintain the performance. Curious.

For my image comparison I chose the F12 Berlinetta as the F167 will be somewhat the same length (4621 mm).
The wheelbase will be slightly shorter than that of the 812 SF and the F12 Berlinetta (so: 2687 mm).
The real sensation, however, is the pronounced windshield (“4 cm-theme“). The rear door section is even more
curvy on the F167 than on the F12 Berlinetta. The cabin as said before (and wished by me) is more centered.
The silhouette of the F167 looks very sporty and well proportioned. Now finally take away this stupid winter coat!
