Thought I’d post a link, the Misselwood Concours is this Sunday 7/23. It’s a smaller concours, but the setting is beautiful, right on the water in Beverly, MA, and they always get some great cars; I’ve been attending regularly for a few years now. General Admission is $40 on Sunday, worth checking out if you’ve never been.

The weather was great for the Misselwood Concours, show was well attended with some pretty interesting cars in attendance.

In the days leading up to the show, I ended up connecting with one of the judges on the board and was invited to shadow judge and get a feel for the process. Had a great time, got to meet and chat with some gracious owners and hear some interesting stories; it was fun to play a part after having been a spectator at I don’t know how many shows/concours events over the years.

Of particular interest was the 1949 166 Inter Cabriolet 033 S, the 16th production Ferrari built and fresh off an overseas restoration, complete with Red Book and Massini report, that took a deserved Best in Class. Always cool to see the cars that started it all.

@audi_328 Thanks for sharing. It was a great day and an excellent show. I Liked the 488 with the GTO sign.. The owner had the GTO there last year, he thought it was kind of funny. Bruce Male was in attendance with his 54 Maserati Zagato. Among a lot of things, he competed in 18 mille miglia events. I also was impressed with Toyota 2000GT.

It was indeed a pretty great day. Bruce's Maserati, much to my delight, was in one of our two assigned judging classes; got to meet Bruce and hear some stories about the car. He related his first MM in that car: once as he was winding it out, going through the gears, he enthusiastically shifted from 3-4 and the shift lever snapped off and got flung back behind the seats. Frustrated and having pulled over, speaking zero Italian, he found some local mechanics and with gestures managed to explain his predicament; they fashioned him a shift lever out of a length of pipe, wouldn't accept any payment, and he was back in business...that was probably my favorite car there, and the exhaust note was awesome.

The 488 was amusing, I heard a few people remark on that. My 17-yo car nut nephew came along as well. While he knows all about the current Japanese lineup, he had no idea the 2000GT was a Toyota. Definitely not something you see every day!

Is this only for older cars, or can newer cars enter?

To show cars, I believe its a submittal and invitation process. To go the day before and participate in the cars and coffee, and preferential parking I believe is open to any pre registered cars. This would be the contact, Darren is a great host. [email protected].
Space is limited and pre-registration is required. This is a link from this year.
