Thanks, Dockboy! I appreciate the feedback (and w/ photos). But what is the height of the battery? Looks way shorter than the 34R that I tried (at 7.8 inches tall). But keep in mind that I don't want to use a regular lead acid battery but an AGM. And yes, the battery is sitting under the hold down. Best, Humberto-
Humberto, My battery is 7.875" tall. What do expect to gain with an AGM battery? Here is a picture with the cover on. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Ok, thanks for the info. Clearly the batteries are essentially the same height. By going to AGM (sealed battery), I expect to avoid any spills of acid in the battery tray and surrounding area (which leads to corrosion). I will let you know how it works with the Interstate AGM Group 48. Thanks again, Humberto-
Hi Folks, As a follow-up, the Interstate AGM Group 48 did fit well either. I ended up getting a Red Optima (AGM) and the set up works well, along with the battery cover - there is enough vertical clearance (and as risk mitigation, the positive terminal has the rubber cover in case it where to come into contact with the metal battery cover; to mitigate getting an electrical short condition). After reviewing the pros/cons of getting Red Optima, I still felt it is the best solution (at least for me). The battery will be on a AGM compatible battery maintainer while the car is not in used.. Best, Humberto-
