Hey FC, new to the boards and to the brand. I've got a 996 GT3 and am looking to add my first Ferrari to the collection. As a Dad, the FF is really interesting to me. Does anyone have info or history on these FFs:

The one on BAT is great but I have no way to contact the seller. Really interested in this car.

If you’re having kids ride in the back I suggest getting one with a panoramic roof, it’s more rare but the kids usually enjoy it quite a bit. Unless you live in an extremely hot place that is.

I’m in Texas where it’s hotter than satan’s ass. I’m sure it’s nice but not a requirement for me. The only MUST HAVE is the lift because of my driveway. A friend has a 458 and he can navigate it with ease because of the lift.

Fellow 997 GT owner here. I just purchased my FF a couple of weeks ago after about an 8-month search. I looked closely at all 3 of the above. For me must have options were LED steering wheel and lift. Cooled seats would have been nice to have, but not a deal breaker. I also prefer darker interiors.

Your first example. White makes a Ferrari look very big, especially the FF, which is a pretty large car, both in length and width. As a 996 owner you'd be shocked how big it is. I prefer the gray colors as they hid the size somewhat. The Daytona seats are not as comfortable as the standard seats, they prop you up and you don't feel as snug in them.

The other two cars on your list, I would've made an offer for sure. They ticked pretty much all of my boxes. Not a fan of the rear wiper as it kills the otherwise clean lines, but it can be removed and a plug installed in its place.

One thing to keep in mind, the leather on center vents on top of the dash shrinks. It's a pain to repair properly and I knew it would drive me nuts. Thankfully I found a car with full carbon fiber trim, so I don't have to worry about that.

Good luck on the search, the FF plays well with Porsches...

I really want to find the owner of the car listed on BAT but haven't had any luck. That car is great

I just now looking into FF’s myself. The one in Chicago looks interesting but I have to do more research to see if the radio head unit can be upgraded to one with Apple CarPlay. I have to do a lot of research on FF’s period.

I always prefer to purchase from an oem dealer. Just my 2 cents worth. Good luck with your purchase.

Yeah that’s fair. I don’t fully understand the Ferrari cpo program. Is it included in that price or does it just qualify to be cpod?

I bought my 458 from an "oem dealer" and it was supposed to have gone through the pre-certification process for extended warranty. The brakes failed the first time I drove it. The dealer pretended they never heard of the issue. Bottom line, all dealers are all the same. Caveat emptor.

The location of the head unit in the FF is suboptimal. You can't follow a map very well and keep your eyes on the road at the same time. You can install an aftermarket HU w CarPlay but to me it's not worth the hassle.

Also interested in finding one of the forums. Must haves would be the suspension lift, LED wheel, and in grey or white.

Unlikely for carmakers to spend much resources nowadays on navigation via HU map, when nearly everybody is on Waze via phone or something similar.

the LED wheel looks cool for sure but it’s a gimmick I rarely use. I wouldn’t pass on a good spec car due to the steering wheel. The lifter is very useful to have.

For what it's worth, I actually find the shift lights pretty useful, particularly if you're switching between cars and don't trust your ears to get your shift points exactly right.

Obviously the tach works just fine too, but the shift lights don't require you to take your eyes off the road...

I drove my friends 458 and 488 and I liked having the shift lights on the wheel.

We’ve owned two FF’s, including the current 2014 Bianco Italia example with the pano roof. I would highly recommend the pano if you plan to use the rear seats.

We spent about $20K to upgrade the entire audio system and used a modern Kenwood unit that seamlessly fits into the OEM space. Focal speakers, upgraded sub in the OEM trunk space, amps, plus laser jammers and built-in radar detectors. Emran at CarTunes Atlanta did a great job. Everything looks stock.

Good luck with your search. Mega practical sportscar. My favorite DD ever. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login

Agreed. After selling our 2012 FF, I spent two years regretting my decision. I think the GTC4 Lusso has an improved interior, but I prefer the FF’s exterior styling.

Thanks for all the advice on the audio upgrade, Ricky.

Haha, that explains our different opinions of the shift lights' usefulness! I've never driven any of my cars in auto.

Auto shifts WAY too early, at least in street driving. MPG is not my priority. Plus, I still love rowing the gears and heel-and-toe downshifts on our older cars.
