The other thing people need to remember about Florida is that we have numerous high end, official dealerships with incredible buying power and clientele. So much so that they really get first dibs on ANY exotic that is hitting the market before the rest. Dealers like this Carrio, etc. only get the scraps/rejects the official dealers don't want or the questionable cars that people know better to try and sell to the dealer. After 30 years here I've lost count of all the shady characters here who tried playing "big time car broker".

Trust me, you don't want to buy a Ferrari, Porsche or any exotic from some second hand Florida dealer. You're just asking for trouble. If you are crazy enough to consider it at the very least have the Official Dealer to a PPI. I'll guarantee you they know about the car and or will find issues. I've had close friends not listen to me in this because they thought they were getting a "deal" somewhere else.

Thanks original poster for alerting us as their internet presence is certainly there

AND, somehow, they get cars that are usu more unique and spec'd very nicely...not just the usu black, white, silver, reds....

I recently saw a jaw dropping bentley gt in a factory matte beige/alloy color

Why won’t either of the previous couple negative posts about this dealer and owners “not get into it”?

Seems like this would be the place to lay it all out.

Personally? I have a rule I have never broken.

I do not buy cars from Florida. Ever. Period. Non negotiable. Maybe I’ll break that rule someday, but almost every single instance I’ve dealt with for clients or etc. has involved an issue with the car or title.

Not buying from Florida is a really strange rule lol… I’ve been in the car business for 27 years in Florida with multiple dealers and makes and have never heard such an opinion. Especially as far as condition goes… much better condition cars than from the northeast for example. But anyway, as far as Carrio is concerned, with me, the only thing I really see is they (he) just try VERY hard to make huge profit; like ridiculous profit. The cars they have (on the high end) are actually quite amazing— it’s the most impressive showroom I’ve ever been in actually… absolutely gorgeous. I have no idea where they find and get their cars but they have some seriously special cars the times I’ve gone there. So I guess the only alarm I have is his pricing, his changing of prices when a buyer is interested (big jump) and how he pays his salespeople (or doesn’t)— for example, the car I originally went to see was an F8 Tributo for $519,000… this was like 1-1.5 years ago when prices were massive… he said he’d do 499 for me after we got talking… I couldn’t afford it at all so was really just jerking myself off mentally…. Over the next few days of continuously browsing online, I see the car listed at $629,000– so I texted him and said, dude, what happened to the 519??!! And laughed and said, I got a buyer on it that I know has money so I changed the price but I’ll still do the 499 for you… he sold that car for 629. He also had a Pista for 499 (black with red interior) That car also sold higher than the advertised price…. So the ‘shady things’ I speak of are mostly about the pricing, advertised pricing, changing pricing, salesman commissions etc…

Also, I saw a few of the lesser cars they have. Like cars under 200 or 100k and yes, some of those had issues cosmetically and mechanically… but their high end stuff was/is amazing.

Their cars are storied, they are crap. I bought a car from them once and had to wholesale it. They are unscrupulous, I wouldn't recommend every buying from them. They have many awful reviews, that's not by accident.

I am hearing more and more of this "washing" title business that I am going to join the camp of not buying from FL. I believe TX and NY also.

Lol, you’ve just listed the top 3 car sales states in the country… perhaps this simple math is why you ‘hear’ more stories. Silliness.

My only question to the OP..why are you buying an 05 Bentley anything? To be honest, they really are not a bad car..but they are a car that should be avoided.

I actually bought a Porsche from him probably 9 years or so ago
When he first took on the exotic side himself (the kid)
My experience was really good. I got a good price and the car was solid

But then over the last few years , I would see a car and email him and get no response
Happened a few times so I stopped looking at their cars

But my only sold deal with them , was a good experience when it happened a few years ago

they are a nightmare tbh and extremely cheap here in the UK because the cost of repairing them is so high and they constantly have issues!

For the guy a few posts above who states he has been in the auto business for 27 years. Carrio clearly is the typical small lot garbage like most with probably some of the lowest level techs doing their recon with an owner changing mid level management every six months and playing with the sales people pay which is super old school. They are showing convoluted grosses with miscellaneous charge backs forcing mini payout deals on a completely fake washout sheet done in an excel sheet. 27 yeas ago isn’t long enough to know how notorious Florida dealerships were with being associated with money laundering fronts for drug traffickers and a multitude of other illegal crap. I would hard pass on buying from 90 percent of the dealers down there unless they are owned from a big publicly traded auto group like AutoNation, Penske or Sonic Automotive.

Yes, you are correct and I am WELL AWARE of all these things... sorry if you feel smarter for some reason... anyway, they do not have any techs... apparently, Louis says he is planning to build a whole shop with techs, paint, body, etc... but yes, you're right that I'm sure 'whoever' does their recon, if any is done at all, is likely told to do the bare minimum for safety at best.... As for washouts and pay-- you are again, correct and I've witnessed it first hand with my friend who I brought there for a job.... and lastly, as for fronts for laundering, I can't and won't speculate if Carrio is one of them. I worked for Autonation Mercedes for years as well as other corporations... all Franchise dealers except for where I am right now which is a used car dealer with 6 stores and owned by a HUGE corporation... so, of course, all deals are good and legit.

I wasn’t trying to come across smarter. I was trying to fill in gaps that you left out about why people have the perception they do about buying a car in Florida. I didn’t even go into the chop shop part of the business that happens down there with vin swapped cars. I wasn’t trying to elude that Carrio might be involved in anything I mentioned but the fact they have no techs and have no state inspection just like Texas is why I don’t buy out of those areas. I’m glad to hear you worked for a real organization like AutoNation. AutoNation is too big to play around and they are very transparent. They will also rectify the issue if you call corporate even if you are getting stone walled at the dealer level.

Incorrect about state inspections in Texas

Of course if a state inspection is how you decide what states to buy from, yikes…..

Your comment is yikes… Buy from a state with no inspection versus one with an inspection. You’re are quite bright.

Some are stricter than others. Virginia is difficult, Maryland can be so so. Depends on the state. I am from the dealer world on a large scale and not all state inspections are junk. Some of you are just commenting from a consumer standpoint. I could sell so many more cars with 135k miles in one of my stores in Florida due to no inspection than I could in Virginia due to the state inspection requirements which would price me out of investing into the car to put on the front line and forcing me to auction hopefully at a minimal loss.

My point is I'd never trust a state inspection, I would use a 3rd party I trust and my own eyes. The state inspection facilities are gas stations or a state facility that check VINs and exhaust. Service stations are gonna sell you brakes and tires and anything else they can. Dealerships can often do their own inspections so again meaningless. In fact even a CPO could have been wrecked.

I completely understand what you are saying but if I were a blind consumer that wasn’t such a savvy and educated buyer to the process, I believe they still have an edge buying from a state that has a stricter state inspection than one with none.
