OK, that makes sense. However, I was around a lot of SL's and SLC's when I lived in Germany from 1978 to 1982 and I don't remember any of them on XWX's. The 280 was of course the most common engine... My mid-80's 380SL had it's original unused spare, an MXV. That tyre suited the SL perfectly.

I started up today for the 1st time in 2 months my 991.2 . From the rear lhs shocking metallic-sounding tap-tap noise on idle! Had a gut feeling about what it was. 1. Lazy Hydraulic lifter 2. Muffler bearing Drove it for around 30 minutes -went to my office, drove home, noise GONE. So lifter. One can imagine the ill-informed -Going to a shop and being charged for replacing lifters. I notice the GMA T-50, when it starts, spins up on the MGU for quite a few seconds before the engine fires, probably to prime the oil system.
Big problem is that a lot of the oil company books at suppliers list 0W oil for the 308 - I always have to fight to get 10W put in.
