If one pays close attention to the KSG muffler @EFerrari34 received, it only weighs 21 lbs, while most other systems are 27 lbs+. Capristo is in the 32-33 lbs range. It also has valves on the piping and the muffler is not titanium. The muffler box is small and there's probably not much material in there to muffle the sound. Just enough. The outer piping is also routed slightly different than most.

Yes, I know. I didn't post that so others would have a blind listen. I just like that higher frequencies attenuated more.

Received a question about why they made my swirl pipe in two pieces. Kreissieg didn’t want us to bang away at their system like Ferrari did for the Y pipe install at the factory.

When you remove the Kreissieg; they sell a re-install kit that comes with new gaskets, solenoid, etc.

    And mighty it is. :D

Consider this. It's 80* on a fall day, not a cloud in the sky. Your heading north from CT to Vermont for the day.

I just got off a call with Kreissieg to get their official answer on two valves. They use two valves b/c they simply couldn’t “tune” the exhaust tone to their satisfaction with only one. They can’t control flow well enough with one valve & having two is one of the five reasons their sound is difficult for anyone to replicate (dual valves, muffler pipe configuration, swirl pipe, materials used in production & baffles in muffler).

How are their valves controlled? Plugged into?

Their controlled by a wireless remote (similar to an aftermarket alarm system). The Ultimate system comes with a Kreissieg Solenoid, antenna & control box that is wired into the 12V. The vacuum lines are rerouted through their solenoid & to each individual valve.

I have a diagram of the set-up; I’ll post it when I have a chance.

We had to use the FABspeed mini cats to kill the CEL as you would imagine, but that worked fine.

I had an issue with the mini cats so I’m awaiting a replacement.

We’re also trying to figure out why the valves stay closed on start-up & won’t let me change the sound level until it’s warm. I’ve checked every vacuum line for leaks; Kreissieg suggested a few things this evening. I’ll try them this weekend.

Once I get the valves working; I’ll take it out at night b/c I’m dying to hear it. I’m trying…

Thanks; here are all of the TUBI’s we tested. (Granted; I set off to find what I thought was the best sounding & failed to take recordings of all of them). I didn’t know I would be sharing to this extent.

Tubi has two generations. The straight bracket is Gen 1 & the “355” is Gen 2 (current).

    Evo (2008)
Tubi Rumore (2022) bought from Japanese dealer with a group buy.
Gen 2 Tubi Loud from Japan single tip (5” tip)
Gen 1 Tubi Loud from Japan single tip (5.3” tip)
Gen 1 Tubi Standard quad tip from Japan

Me & @ShineKen talked for a long time about why the TUBI’s sound so different from each other. We were told that the Japanese market had a different sound than I’m used to. So I set off for the Japanese TUBI’s.

    A few facts.
    1) the single tips both sound better (higher pitch) and louder than the version we’re all used to. Both Single tips are the loud version & special ordered from Tubi. I don’t think single tips are usually available, but I certainly may be wrong.

    2) the Gen 1 Single tip is the best sounding Tubi that I’ve ever heard personally (all a matter of opinion, I know). I can’t say that I know that the baffles inside are different on the Japanese versions; but I believe the Single tip exhausts are different. I don’t know if it’s b/c of the tips or both the internals & tips are different; but they sound incredible.

    3) I didn’t really hear a difference with the Gen 1 quad tip that I bought from Japan; but it is standard sound level.

My favorite sound may be different than your’s so my title post about the Kreissieg being “the best” was obviously my opinion.

What I was searching for is a system that is louder than stock & had the highest pitch scream imaginable. The Gen 1 single tip came in 2nd overall place IMO.

I will give you my take on all three Capristo’s at a later date.

I tested five different Tubi models, all three Capristo’s (admittedly sound 1 was on a friends car; I didn’t buy it) & the exhaust this thread is about. I’ve received a bunch of messages asking about the other ones so I’m sharing my personal experience.

Many of you own one of these systems. In general; most 355’s with aftermarket exhaust have Tubi or Capristo. That’s why the discussion has always been between them for so many years.

There are other brands. Nouvalari is picking up steam b/c it seems to be a good value. ITO, Larini, etc are also out there.

All of my tests were using stock manifold design (whether it be the OEM headers or Tubi). I did not test the FABspeed b/c I already know it can’t reach the highest pitch by design.

Once you post a video of the sound clips of this, someone somewhere will say they like the Capristo or Tubi sound better yada yada yada, and are entitled to their opinion even if it's wrong.

I mean someone will prefer the OEM sound, that's fine it's not better it's just their preference.

I mean there is someone who thinks Uma Thurman is hotter than Heidi klum too. All fine, wrong but it's fine.:)

Full disclosure~~~ I have to wait for it not to be 111 degree’s outside. It’s currently chilling in the dealership’s A/C “vault.”

Granted; I’ve been traveling so I don’t know if the replacement mini cats arrived yet or not. One of the mini cats was defective [emoji849]

Yep those temps are brutal, the cars can handle it but don't love them. New fans help. I fit a radiator shroud with bypass flaps too. 348 though.

I actually like about all aftermarket exhausts with OEM cats myself. Tempers the sound a bit.

I’ll tell you; I have brand new A/C everything on the car & you’ll be drenched in 5 minutes with it on max A/C (plus the car is slower).
