That is great news! I hope I’m about only two weeks behind you. Sure would be nice to get my car by the end of September so I could drive it a little before it gets too cold for this MPSC2r’s. Might be tough to get any driving in though because I’d like to lower it a little, get a new alignment, do a modest tint, and install some PPF & ceramic coating before I hit the streets. Will likely get all of this done just in time for cold weather and have it sit on my lift until spring.
Psyched for you guys! I’m still years away on my waitlist, likely will have to buy a prespecc’d car in a year ir so when (I predict) ADMs will be more reasonable. I’m willing to consider $25K over for a good spec.
I'll have maybe 6 weeks of driving max before bad weather sets in. May drive it back from the dealer to break it in (about 9 hours). 2024 orders have already begun to get their TPWs already for mid-late September. If the ERay roll out is delayed into October then they will crank out the Z06s.
Call me crazy but I truly believe you will be able to pick up a ZO6 (with very low miles) a year from now very close to MSRP. Lots of folks will continue drop from the waiting lists (flippers, folks opting for an ERay, and ultimately folks that want to “trade-up” to the new ZR1). Patience will reward you.
Welp after much back and forth, negotiating over stupid ADM's, production delay's, allocation delays, blah blah I finally locked my Z06 in yesterday. Dealer said they build them pretty quickly so I'll have this year. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Beautiful. Red Mist is a beautiful color. I went a lot of different ways on my spec before settling here. My main hesitation was I have a Rosso Imola 296 coming next year and thought the colors may not work together in the collection. But I liked Red Mist so much that I went this way anyhow.
Ive seen them new for 25k over on BAT. Methinks this frenzy will be ending sooner than dealers expect. esp once the flippers cant really turn a profit. The hot flip car now the mustang GTd. Gm and the others are figuring out that electrics are a $ black hole with limited sales. they have every reason to make a many profitable premium ICe cars as possible. Somethings gotta pay the electric bills.
I wonder if the lack of a warranty are depressing the numbers. It will be interesting to see what happens on cars once the 6 month penalty elapses.
I don’t think the warranty coming with cars that have been held onto for at least 6 months will cause much of a bump in resale values. GM is cranking ZO6’s out now. The increase in production will likely keep the secondhand market in-check.
Guys lol. It’s a 670 HP NA V8 super car for under $200k. Worst case it loses a little value over time. And each dollar lost from usage will be worth 10x in fun.
As the speculative demand disappears there is likely to be a massive correction in pricing of these cars new and used. At 25 over msrp the speculative upside is already pretty diminished, most people paying 10-15k in tax and registration fees. They're popping up on bat every week now. Markets turn fast, and the USA economy is unlikely t be stronger next year. Two years ago you couldn't buy electronics barbecues and swimming pools, that market is sated. In most markets housing is not rising anymore and look at retail numbers. By most weeks production stats Gm can pump out 10-15k z06s per year. We went though abnormal times and abnormal market conditions and those wont continue forever.
By my count looking at the public spreadsheets that track built Z06s, GM is making about 50 Z06s per day so maybe 250 tops per week. Some weeks per constraints it looks more like 200 per week. Not sure how Eray production will affect total production.
so 10-15k per year I dot. See e-Rey impacting it at all. Erebus uses stingray components. Imo The car thyere going to be making less and less of is the stingray. But thats still a whole lotta cars of a type that has been on the market for years already
Wish I could edit the above. Did some more digging in the owner’s manual through my phone app….. which has different guidance vs whatever manual I got off my laptop…. so, see below for tire pressure/load recommendations (makes way more sense to me): Image Unavailable, Please Login
Got my vin today so hopefully Monday is the day. My dealership is less than 100 miles from the plant.
Nice little gift with car, matches color. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
The hot tire pressure makes sense. 32 psi. You can always play with 1 or 2 ps iess and see if they take longer to get greasy, and how long to come up to temp. I read over on the vette site that the vette driving experience uses 25 cold, and they're not using cup rs due to wear. Id say any tires that last 2-3 days on track are good beyt, after that even if not worn they prob heat cycle out, so if the cup Rs work thats a good bet. Lookign forwards to your next reports with the car, road and track pls.
Road impression is easy- car is more stiff than C8 with Z51. On the “touring” setting, it feels like C8 on stiffest setting if memory serves. It’s not overly harsh like a Porsche RS, but it is not as much “GT” as the C8. I still think I could do 600 miles and not be a cripple, just not as plush a ride. Also, as mentioned- it follows every nook and cranny in the road surface- not as relaxed as C8 It is ridiculously loud for a stock set up. I drive around in “my mode” with the exhaust turned down as much as possible with the side benefit that it stays in that mode for the next start up in the most quiet mode. Monster motor difference, obviously.
eRay uses the Stingray engine...it's a lot more Z06 than Stingray. Integrating the eRay into Bowling Green HAS to impact the number of Stingrays and Z06's built. There is no way around it. BTW. It still takes 8-14 months (or more) to get a Stingray, they can't just kill the thing to make eRays/Z06's.
