    Forum,

i have owned an 812 SF and a 488 coupe both of which I purchased pre-owned. I am new to the new Ferrari game (have extensive Porsche experience), and I would like to spec out and order the F167 when available.

My question is whether that is feasible without a prior new car purchase? Do I need to order a roma spider to make that happen?

thanks so much tor the wisdom

  2. I would begin by asking your dealer.

i did and got a very vague answer, not helpful

  4. Then it's probably b/c know one knows as the mothership has not issued its directives.

I would imagine it would be as it's not really a special limited production car, sort of like the 296, which was first come first served.

Fair enough. For those with prior F12 or 812 experience, how available were they?

    thanks!

It should be orderable, just going to be a matter of where you come on the list. By all accounts it is going to be eye-wateringly expensive so that should temper demand some.

I bought a used 458, then a bit later placed an order for an 812 SF. The rest is history.

You won't get one of the first slots available.
But, as with all 'limited but not so limited' models everyone who wants one will be able to get one.

I probably will never buy one new but out of curiosity being current owner of a 2017 F12 and not a "first time" Ferrari owner how does that slot you in general for buying a new one from Ferrari?

the word is an 812 variant currently in the garage but not sure if that is really the ground truth... don't know if F12 counts.

You should not have to order a Roma.

I ordered a 296 GTS no problem with no prior history. I got in late but before they closed the books. I did know the dealer well because I have my other Ferraris serviced there and I go to a lot of their events. Not sure if that helped.

I waited until 2020 to decide to order the 812 because I was enjoying my 488 Spider but I wanted the 812 GTS and they told me I needed the 812 for that so I bought the 812. They built it almost immediately so I had it on Mar 30 2020. We spec'd and ordered a Portofino M in Oct 2021 and the M is just arriving next week, it's on the water.

I just paid a deposit on a Purosangue that a year ago they wouldn't let me order, it's for build in 2027. So I guess it will depend on what type of customer Ferrari are looking for with the car. If they do take your deposit, I wouldn't expect the car anytime soon.
