    Hey I just sold my 10” race ramp wheel cribs because I was uncomfortable with just how high I had to Jack one side of the car to get them under the wheel. The car would be on two wheels with the Jack almost fully extended and while I’m sure it wasn’t that big a risk it just felt like the car was on the verge of tipping over until I would start to lift the other side.

    I really just use the cribs to get the under tray off before using a set of quick jacks and am pretty happy with how much room I had to reach everything once the cribs where in position. I’ve seen lots of people say 6” ramps have been fine for them. I’m kind of leaning towards getting the 2 piece 8 inch set so I only have to lift 4 inches at a time. Is there any other sizes people are generally happy with or think is ideal?

    I had looked at ramps and decided there was a possibility of slippage when backing up on them.

    That was of great concern

    So I bought two (2) 10' 2 X12's and cut them into progressive lengths of four (4) pieces- about 36", 30"', 24", 18", and 12"

    I screwed them together in a step configuration

    This gives me 6" clearance at one end when the car is backed onto them.

    I put them against both rear wheels and back very slowly.

    That way they are secure and do not slip.

    Plenty of surface area for the wide rear tires

    They are heavy but will not slip

    4 floor jacks and 4 rhino ramps will handle your concerns if you don't have a lift or a quick jacks

    And if you buy at harbor freight and walmart .. not so expensive

    It's almost funny how the jack points are just within the tray. If they had just moved the tray around a bit so the jack points were off the tray, none of this would be a problem.

    My biggest annoyance was when I realized the defuser/venturi tunnels under the car are so large that the tray can’t be removed while the car is on the ground.

    First time I tried to remove it I lifted the car on quick jacks got the tray free and lowered the car again to slide it out of the way just to discover how it hugs the transmission. I ended up having to make a lot of creative and questionable moves with a floor Jack to get everything sorted out without damaging anything.

    I use 8" 2pc race ramps and 8" wheel cribs, give me plenty of space under the car to pull the floor, do coolant lines, etc.. I just did a cam belt swap with it on these actually. Harbor freight low pro jack gets it on top of them just fine.
