....but I might need authentication from Mr Massini. Saw this guy parked behind me in a common spectator lot shoehorned between an SUV and p/u truck. MA plates, completely thrashed front fascia and a crack nearly across the windshield. But oh the driving this guy must be enjoying!

There is nothing like a cross country trip in an exotic. The memories last a lifetime.

How many of these cars sit in their climate-controlled bubbles, occasionally driven a handful of miles, but their "value" carefully maintained such that when the owner's on their deathbed, they can look back and think about how they owned an Enzo, didn't lose any money on the car, and hey maybe they even made a few bucks - and of course, there's nothing wrong with that.

Our subject hero, meanwhile, reminisces on all the places and sights the Enzo took him to, the people he met through that car, and having been "that guy with the Enzo" who among other things (pretty sure this won't be the only road-trip) drove it cross country to Monterey that year.

It's easy to say when it's other people's money (or car's value), but man, I know who I'd rather be.

    Could not agree more.

So refreshing to see nowadays. Sadly we have many collectors here who buy the most incredible cars and seal them away in some air conditioned space. If they dare bring them out to a show they are transported even if its just a few miles away.

i wonder what the service internvals on the enzo are. I imagine you'd have to stop at least once mid country to do some sort of fluid change.

I hated Enzos when they first came out. Now, after a martini or two, they don't look so bad.

One of my favorite cross country drives was picking up a 600 mile (6 year old) TR and driving from the upper peninsula of MI to AZ. I met more people, and made so many memories, parking these things and polishing them with a diaper is stone cold stupid. Here's a random shot at Mt Rushmore...

Kudos to this guy. He is a real Ferrari owner who Enzo would be proud of as we all are. Stuff the value drive and enjoy.
    Audi_328 you expressed it well.

    Fantastic adventure !

The Black Hills and the roads within are wonderful roads for driving. Living in MN, which is only a days drive to the Black Hills, I’m always surprised when I talk to local people that have never been there nor seen Mount Rushmore.

There are a lot of things that they have never seen. I remember stopping at Mt Rushmore. I parked in a lower lot by myself. When I came back there was a crowd around the car. I talked to a bunch of people. I asked them why weren't they looking at Mt Rushmore? They said that the monument wasn't going anywhere. The real attraction was the Ferrari.... as that will be leaving!

Knew who’s Enzo that was right away he
definitely drives his Ferrari’s. Saw an FF in the parking lot of a car show in Mass. a few years back and it was covered in road dirt looked like it has just driven through Alaska and it was another car owned by this gentleman.

I've told this story before; I was driving the 575 to Glacier NP and had stopped in West Yellowstone for a BR break. A bus full of Italian tourists pulled up and emptied out. A little Italian lady wearing long coat, head scarf, etc. stopped to look at the car. No English but said "Ferrari". I motioned for her to get in and sit in the driver's seat; she sat for awhile and I open the hood and she got out, stared at the V-12 and started crying. Then walked on to catch up with her family.

    Great to see
I read up a bit on the owner, great success story in Central Mass
His dad was a pioneer in the Honda dealership universe
My wife bought 2 cars from them in the late 70s and early 80s back when their store was called Richard's Honda

There is also a post in the Enzo forum about it. It has over 26,000 miles on it and all I can say is the guy is an absolute legend. Don’t save it for the next guy, just drive the hell out of it.

There's wealth: "I have a Ferrari Enzo in my garage!"

and then there's WEALTH: "I drove my Ferrari Enzo across the country for fun, and the windshield got cracked by a stone somewhere in the middle.."

    Love it.

I think I read somewhere on the supercar thread here some know it all guy talking about how finicky the Enzo was to drive and an owner replied something to the effect 'nope, it will sit and idle with a full tank of gas and the A/C on till the gas runs out'
