So I've bought some carbon genuine door handles for my car. Went in today to remove the door handles which is fortunately a single screw. Drivers side came off using a 2.5mm allen and was quite a bastard, but managed.

Passenger side, looks like someone has already had a go and stripped the screw completely...

Is there anything I can do here? tried a screw extractor drillbit but no dice, the screws are so small.

Anyone done this before, or am I screwed?

I have solved this issue in the past by cutting a slot across the top of the Allen head with a dremmel tool then using a screwdriver

Another option that has worked for me is to use consecutive larger drill bits till you actually drill the head of the screw off the thread and then you can remove the part. This is only works where your can remove whatever the screw is holding.

Then a good old fashioned pliers to get the thread out at is now exposed when you remove the part.

I think it maybe a 3mm hex. Pretty sure it is because I just upgraded my door panels. Try any 3mm hex first, if that does not work, then try the MIP 3mm HEX wrench. These MIP hex wrenches has saved me from what I thought was a stripped screw. They are available on Amazon and at the RC Racing store. The head is slightly larger with a slight taper design. If you are in an area where there is an rc racing track, then you might find somebody who has one to loan you to try. Let me know!

And if it is 2.5mm..try an mip 2.5mm first, then any 7/64 hex wrench (2.8mm).
