Unless the weather’s bad I typically head down for Concours in the Park on Sunday. Anybody else going?
A group of us usually ride out for the historics on Saturday, but there was no interest in it this year.
What’s everyone up to that wasn’t interested? I was hoping to have ANY car done and ready but I don’t think I’ll have anything set to go. But I’ll be there at least one of the days.
I don't know. We got together last Sunday morning and no one expressed any interest. For several years we used to reserve a cabana and brought our own food and drinks. Then for years we switched to the hospitality tent to save the work. After the event we always stopped at a Mexican restaurant in Great Barrington. They always had great food but last year everyone's meal sucked. Maybe that had something to do with it.
That's too bad; I usually make it there on the Sunday, barring nasty weather. Always seems to be a pretty good show, IMO, more to see than there's time for.
Yes sir. I’ll be doing some volunteering there this time, either Sat at the C&C or during the show or both, so will be there both days.
On Sunday, you can park along the track as part of the “gathering of the marques”, costs a little extra I think, but they park the cars together by make.
If anyone is heading out on Sunday from the Cape Ann area give a post. I might just do that. Haven't ben to Lime Rock in a couple of years.
Took my nephew along for the ride down to LRP today in the 355. Overall was a great, if pretty hot day. No lack of interesting cars to see, but seems the “gathering of the marques” attendance seems to be diminishing…I feel like 10 years ago there were cars all around the track, in recent years there were definitely less, though still hundreds were there. The concours always makes for a good show; this year the Auriana collection was featured, including some remarkable Ferraris: the 1947/50 166 Touring Berlinetta (the second Ferrari built according to some notable experts), an alloy 250SWB, 1971 512M, and a 1965 1512 F1 car.
