Sorry, can't make it. I have prior engagements with my daughter.

    Thanks for the gesture though.

    That was pretty-much it.
The only thing I noticed was if you were based in the USA, you didn't get the 'Main' pass unless you
shot 4+ events a year, so you HAD to go to Europe to shoot some. That eliminated 95% of the USA
guys, I had a Passport, just chose not to travel there, I was here doing baseball and football - it paid more,
back then that was what I needed, but looking back, I wish I would have done a few more races, AND done
them differently. I shot mainly cars, not people, that was a mistake.

I was on Canon, Nikon, and even Olympus had a Pro Service - I could get anything I wanted with a phone call,
but back then owned a 400 2.8 300 2.8, and for awhile a 300/2 and 200/2 but got tired of the weight.
Olympus had a 180/2 that was really great, but they didn't have a MD that would last more than a couple of weeks
    before breaking.

Awesome! Keep in touch. We have lots of down time during the days. We should all have lunch or something. I'm sure the Mayor knows where all the good places are.

My dad was a Nikon guy, so we carted around about 75lbs of equipment ... mostly me! about 40lbs. the worst was LeMans in 88. he brought his Hasselblad one year ( I think 90 ) and that freaked out the FIA press gal... large format etc... hounded us all weekend. we ended up keeping the film, and sending them a contact sheet. I think we had a really great shot of Senna and Neil Oatley in the pit lane during practice...

Hi Bob...we've been getting all the Bellagio sales stuff since the spring. I mentioned in another thread our normal penthouse fountain view suite is going for well over 10X normal rates (not my rate but still, after being a 20+ year loyal Bellagio patron, staying there on average 20 nights per year, no way I have the juice to secure our normal suite. They are all going as premiere packages (think 6 figures and up). I figured a junior suite and a good race package for four nights with air, etc. would probably cost me and Janet about $ 30k. Then there will be dynamic pricing for all of the bars and restaurants, and jam ups everywhere. We took a pass and will come out next year. Oh, and incidentally, the demand is still very strong and we have not seen any "breaks" in the packages or the room rates.

I’m just going to wing it when it comes to food. Several months ago when I started making inquiries Robuchon was already privately booked Friday night. My reservation at Picasso was canceled because they became privately booked. Exotics Racing booked privately by Mercedes all week. Not even trying to plan anything anymore.

I may have an extra Bellagio grandstand seat come November as things have changed since I bought them 10 months ago.

Received an email from Ferrari yesterday about their hospitality tickets. Apparently they must not be selling well as my dealer told me the first year in Miami had a large waiting list. I am sure the price and hotel availability is not helping.

Apart from the overinflated prices, it is also more than likely that there will not be much at stake in terms of championships positions at the time of the LV GP...

That has been the case for about 7 races now lol. Again why pay that for a race that wont be about anything in Nov but testing for next year and the lights of Vegas. Fascinating setting not much for anything else race related. Tire life will be interesting at the normal temps there in Nov. It will be a good tele picture and interesting as its new. The season is over. No money to develop and the titles are set for MaxBull. Too bad.

When I go to GP (and I've done over 30 in the past decades) I rarely pay attention to what's happening in the race or the championship. For me it's a matter of taking in the atmosphere, see what the track looks like in reality, check out the cars, enjoy the sounds and smells. Basically anything you can't get from TV. So it matters little to me whether the WDC has been decided or not.

I do want to visit the Vegas GP but once their pricing and policies have normalized. I want to book my own hotel and buy my own tickets separately and at reasonable prices. Give it a few years and we'll get there.

Just looked at the “offer” in the MyFerrari app. Price is not listed in the brochure . I put 2 tickets in a cart and $54,000, $27,000 each. Thank you hi-def TV and a comfortable couch.

Wild. I just don't understand who is paying these prices or who they think is going to for them to still persist at these fantasy land levels.

How many hedge-fund babies are F1 fans?

At first I thought some rich Saudis, but they already have their own GPs.

Its a farce lol. The racing is not that great this year. Utterly predictable overall. Go to Vegas. Sure, but not for F1 and this absurd pricing lol. Its not that great. Too many other options with that kind of money for a holiday. In Nov at night in the cold. Other than the lights of the strip as a spectacle its not really a race more than a celebrity event. The pricing is ensuring that. When Liberty mentions fans.................i tend to think one should puke lol.
