Seeking a 1996 production date 550 Maranello Cars located in Europe or North America preferred Not interested in red or yellow Mileage not a concern if properly maintained Thank you for your consideration
Apparently you must really like 550s. I drooled over the Blu Nart you posted in the never driven in the rain thread. Or are you planning on cornering the 550 market?
Excuse my ignorance, but why a 1996 specifically? I just recently sold my 1999 MY, but was unaware of any preference over the years?
In Europe France , Ferrari 550 Maranello 01/97 Bleu Chiarro / Tan 120.000 kms € 109 900, #107618 Image Unavailable, Please Login
Just curious, why a 1996 production date? (which, for a US car, would still mean a 1997 model year) To have one of the first production 550s?
Can bring into the US after 25 years, as most of us know... so maybe because 1996 will be the first MY of 550 that can be easily imported and is only 1.5yr away at this point?
I was unaware of Bleu Chiarro as an optional color for the 550. If the code is 503/C, they call it Blue Sebring for the Maranello. (ask me how I know) ;-) Image Unavailable, Please Login
You can bring 1996,1997, and up to 6/1998 build cars in at this point so it doesn't make a lot of sense.
Only bad thing about CY 96 550s was that they were produced before any of the Scaglietti options became available in late CY 97.
I bought a '97 that I bought in Europe and drove to Spa for a camping trip during the F1 race last August. I still cannot believe how great these 550s/575s are to own. Analog, usable, and a joy to drive.
Chas- Nearly all the 550 dress up options were introduced sometime late in 2007, including Daytona seats, modular wheels, colored calipers, etc.
I did not follow recent sales in France (nor in Europe TBH) but this seems a high asked price, considering the mileage. It's a French car, for which there is a premium in France (most cars available being from Germany or Belgium), but still...
This is how you tell the difference between standard 550 seats and Daytonas. Note the seam on the bottom cushion on the Daytonas. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
