Welcome to week Zero ND vs Navy in Dublin on NBC starts the season. Offseason has been dominated by the dismantling of the PAC-12 for the 2024 season.
The PAC 12 can be reinvented. They need to add a few teams. Stanford, Cal, Oregon State, Washington State, then they need to add teams like Boise State, San Diego State, Fresno State, San Jose State, Hawaii.... (I have no idea which of those teams could or would join) My thinking is to create a conference specifically aimed for TV - play all games at night, at times where bars (and devout football fans) would pick them up as 'the only games on TV' late night, such as kickoff at 8pm pst, which would be 11pm est, OR play all games on a weeknight, where they would have no competition for TV air time. Forget the term 'student'-athlete - that term disappeared 15-20 years ago, it's now 'TV-athlete'.
But just remember - after the first MLB game this season, Aaron Judge was on track to hit 162 home runs.... And until about 2-3 weeks ago, Ohtani was on track to a 750+ million dollar contract. And Colorado is undefeated (some say CU will be the worst college team in 2023 - I don't think that) Things change.
I don't believe the University of South Carolina is rated.... That is the REAL USC - they have been around longer... 79 years longer to be exact. One thing that kinda pisses me off is when the networks list 'OSU' Is that Oklahoma State, Oregon State or Ohio State?
What does that have to do with anything? If I start a Ford Motor Company today does that mean Henry Ford's company that has been around for 120 years doesn't exist?

Did you -watch- that game? TCU D wasn't bad, but the Buff were STACKED at all positions. Their third string guys were starter quality elsewhere. They had something like 83 transfer players. edit: 53 transfer players, 86 new players this year.
