Picked this up yesterday at my favorite AD. Limited edition 1 of 300 for North America. View attachment 3673693
Just picked this one up. Not for everyone’s taste, or for the Rolex GMT purists….(I’m a GMT fan), but for my purposes, this works for me. I’m not going to be tracking multiple time zones, with this one, just a special occasion piece. Wear what you like, drive what you like! Enjoy the remainder of your weekend. 116758SANR Image Unavailable, Please Login
I have the same watch and also the sister piece w/blue sapphires diamonds. I could care less what people think about my LOUDER watches with diamonds, but in my life there's always a place and time for the diamond/gems hand set Rolex's, not to mention the future values of these watches. Rolex is slowly integrating out of production hand set gem cut watches. Instead they will be pumping out more of their standard issue watches once the new production factory is completed which appeals to the mass and which isn't a bad thing at all. It will at the same time make your Black Boy Oyster go up in value significantly over the next 5-7 years. As you already know. people with money will ALWAYS wan't whats not readily available. I have 5-6 "off catalog" watches as weill and it's outperforming the stock market appreciably. Wear you new watch proudly! Cheers!
Jam1. Wonderful LV. Just curious if you had it serviced and Rolex replaced the bezel. I also bought one of the early Y serial LVs from my Tyler TX AD. It has a flat 4 which I would like to keep and so far have successfully done so through two service visits… Image Unavailable, Please Login just wondering if there is a story there
My LV is a 2003 Y serial as well. On its first service my AD removed the insert before I sent it in to make sure they didn’t swap it for the later version so I still have it kept aside with the boxes and other stuff. At this point I don’t want to put it back in to prevent damage and I’m reality guys that really know the subs know how to date them by the dial just as well as the insert versions!

Thanks. Sounds like you shared the same concern and took steps to eliminate any risk of losing OG bezel. I love the way the 5 digit sub wears and my LV gets a lot of wrist time. Best
Rolex nearly ruined my 1655 albino so I don’t really trust them not to arbitrarily replace parts of vintage watches for “aesthetic” reasons and not even be bothered to return the original parts with the watch like they used to. The best work arounds now seem to be servicing with indys or servicing with approved ADs with explicit instructions. Sending watches in isn’t a safe option imo.
