In solidarity with all the other fault posts my car in sympathy has decided to not let me unlock the frunk. Neither the remote or the button on the door will open it… feel like the mechanism is trying to release but it won’t… luckily there is nothing I need inside :-D

haven’t check the manual to see if there is a manual boot release. Anyone know?… to be fair the boot closing has seems very stiff - hard to close since I got the car….

also the rear camera which I thought activates automatically when you put the car in reverse also today seems to have decided to stop working.

Let the fun and games begin!

What I am curious about is, if all the people with these problems use the delivered charger or a dedicated wallbox? Maybe the charger is the problem ? As with other chargeable batteries the stuff could be loaded AND unloaded/refreshed. So maybe the charging device is the main issue ?!?

Well, I think if Ferrari delivers a Ferrari branded charger with the car, there is absolutely no question that the charger should be compatible with the car. If it isn't, Ferrari needs to fix the charger or the car electronics so that it works.

Totally agree, BUT: just the fact that this happens to more than one customers is horrible and shouldn't happen at all. My delivery will take some time but maybe others do have a wallbox and if this prevents a battery death it is worth asking

I am not sure about different countries but as I know (my 296 will be delivererd 2024/25, so I can only comment on issues I read) in Germany a standard wallbox with 11/22kW would fit the plugs. I have a Menekes wallbox at home.

Is anyone else as amused as I am that the glowing red battery icon really looks like the car is flipping you off?

Using extension cord is usually a "no no" but I wonder if using a high grade UPS would be of any benefit.

The nicer units maintain consistent and steady power even in slight fluctuations that do not totally disconnect the charger.

So... update from my car. I called the local Ferrari dealer on Friday last week. The head mechanic came to my place at 8.30 in the evening and attempted to fix the car for an hour, which unfortunately didn't work. So he came back on Saturday morning to pick the car up. It was with Ferrari until Wednesday evening, some things in the battery were apparently reset. I took the car for a 2 day trip over 500km the past days and it has been working flawlessly, in all battery driving modes, charging with delivered charger etc. What's even more, it has been an absolute blast to drive the car through some scenic routes and enjoy the handling and engine.

I was also very impressed by the dedication of the dealer and mechanic team. As sad as it is that a car doesn't start, it's super unusual to have them try to fix it at 8.30 in the evening, pick it up on Saturday morning etc. That was top notch service from the local Ferrari dealer - could not have been better!

Did you ask them if the battery reset issue has anything to do with plugging it in?… I haven’t plugged in my car for over a month and drive it once twice and week and everything works perfectly (tho now I say that…. :)) … I can check battery voltage through the Ferrari app and also the tracking system I have installed

It's a bit unclear if it has to do with plugging it in. What I found was that when I received the car, every time I plugged the charger in it would not start charging immediately but needed 20 seconds and the car to be locked. When I got it back this week, plugging it in locked the charger and started charging immediately, just like I would expect it to.

The manual says it will only charge if the car is locked so that’s surprising if it now charges without locking! I presume it was a security feature but guess if you not using a public charger it’s not an issue..

I was hoping they would have used the SF90 to sort out the potential issues with the hybrid system - apparently they kept some for the 296 :(
Love the Aston on the first picture.

296 is my favorite modern Ferrari. I love the 250lm style, but I must admit that the car has terrible software, it is a shame that it has more problems than the sf90 produced in 2019. Benedetto Vigna is an Italian physicist
