Image Unavailable, Please Login No this isn’t the PS replacement- but it’s a very good looking SUV- I’m sure based on the same platform for the Urus and Audi

That's the new 550bhp VW ID.X concept, based on the ID.7 which uses the MEB platform.

Not sure why you are calling it an SUV when it clearly a saloon / sedan. Various electric VAG cars of all style use the MEB platform, the the Urus is not one of them, it uses MLB evo.

When are people going to realize they are getting taken to the cleaners when buying these new "super SUV's" they see you coming from a mile away, yet you line up to give them money..I will never understand it.

Maybe it's because I'm around these things on a different level. I take them apart, I see the cross over of parts and chassis components from one to another. I see the crap build quality and fluff they put into these things. It's absoult nonsense.

Yet..people line up and pay. Why? Lambo is perhaps the worst for this bait and switch scam. I dunno..it's getting worse as each model gets introduced.

There is NOTHING exotic about any of the new "supercars" all platformed shared money grabbing scams..sorry..

Pretty tall for a sedan- probably more a crossover suv from the look of it

The way I look at the Purosangue, is it’s probably a very good car tech wise and is ok looking. Then I wonder what would I use it for? I haven’t seen one in person just on-line reviews but my comments would be: it doesn’t have much storage, it’s reasonably heavy and wouldn’t do for me what a full sized SUV would do. I have a Range Rover which is nearly 10 years old now and that gives me everything I need in an SUV. The Purosangue falls somewhere between my 812s and my Range Rover and that’s not a gap I really need to fill. The other aspect of modern cars that doesn’t appeal is they get bigger and heavier and a lot of the fantastic tech is just to keep these bulkier cars on the road. The recent exception seems to be the 296 but I worry about that and battery issues if you don’t drive the car much. I’ll be cancelling my Purosangue order - not because of the qualities, or lack of, of the car but I just don’t have a need for it.

It's a D-Segment saloon / sedan. Same segment as the BMW 3 Series, Volkswagen Passat, Tesla Model 3, Mercedes-Benz C-Class, Audi A4 etc..

You make a very good point about needs.

I have pondered this question and for sure you can get a better sized SUV with proper storage that has superior off roading abilities and it will be far cheaper.

But who actually needs any Ferrari?

I mean a 911 Porsche Turbo S can do it all?? So why buy any Ferrari??

This is where your needs turn into wants…

I was on the fence until I drove the car and then I convinced myself that not only did I want it…. I need it!!

    YOLO

Exactly. How hilarious it is people hating the PS because it is not as functional off road as a Jeep, nor does it have the utility of a Suburban. Why would anyone buy it???

    :)

    Yes.

Nobody ‘needs’ anything beyond a basic Toyota if you’re talking about a personal transportation purchase. Everything beyond that is subjective to taste and desire…. and also ego :p

Very good looking? Taste is always a personal thing but for me the lines of this "sedan" IDX7 electric VW have everything I don't like. To make things even worse they added to it a kind of tuning aileron.:)

the only purpose of purosangue is extremely simple - our wives can then be silent with their purosangue when we buy our own toys (more expensive). That's it.

secret plan: if purosangue drives nice, it will be my toy too. hehhe

You have more comments here than even those who like the car. The bigger question is why do you take so much salt in the morning, it’s bad for your blood pressure!

IIRC, Lambo Urus uses the VW MLB evo platform; is there an outside of Ferrari shared platform for the Purosangue?

I recently picked up my Cayenne Turbo GT which I am not in love with but it is damn good driver with lots of room. Basically a great road trip car. It handles great and has plenty of power. Looks are ok but nothing special IMO. My Urus Perf comes in next month and I think it will be hard to to make a decision between them. One thing that is very disappointing with the Porsche is the entertainment system - it sucks a$$. IDK why they cant figure it it out, but it's absolute garbage. I have a feeling the Lambo will be the one especially for $200K+ less than my PS spec. Saturday I will get to drive a PS so I will at least have something to compare it to. For the haters, I personally love driving an SUV, I just cant get into sedans anymore. The more I think about it the v12 Lusso's might be the one for me.

I am looking forward to hearing your thoughts on the PS.

BTW - I drive a G63 everyday as it is just easy.

I think the PS may be more mileage sensitive than most SUV’s. Having said that…. I hope that people get out and drive them 100,000 miles!

That’s what they are made for and Ferrari wants this too!

They expected this to happen on the Roma, however this didn’t workout that way in the US.

I have driven the PS and GTC4Lusso back to back... GTC4Lusso is the more fun and faster car ( the extra 400kg is felt in the PS)... M5 Cs drives better than both.. That's opening a can of worms on a Ferrari site.

yes, we sold the FF, and got spec the cayenne hybrid with ALL bells and whistle, including all those mechanical one. I specced it like my gt cars. My wife immediately regretted selling the FF. So we sold the cayenne and picked up a lusso. I love driving her Lusso.

yes, Lusso is really that awesome, but yes we now like the PS as well!

I’m of a similar opinion, and I know you’re getting the Urus Perf earlier than I am (have one in order). But I hate to say this on the Fchat forum, but the Urus is a phenomenal SUV… power, sound, handling, utility, infotainment, style. Wife and I love it and use it so much that I have my FF up for sale [emoji51].
Have a deposit on the PS, but question paying twice as much as the Urus. I need to test drive a PS quick!

The gateway, now the old Ferrari factory entrance, remains the same since the beginning of 1940 when Enzo Ferrari built his workshop on a 17,000 m2 block of land on what was then the outskirts of Maranello. The center piece of the famous gateway is an arch through which every Ferrari must pass before setting off to homes anew.

The first black and white photo that I presume was taken in 1962 is well known and shows Enzo under the famous arch getting into his personal Ferrari that he loved and which was a 1962 330 GT 2+2 Coupe prototype.

The second color photo I believe was taken on June 18, 2023 when several Purosangues made a trip between Maranello and Le Mans.

The last photo is obviously a photo shopped one so I leave it to your imagination what the words uttered by Enzo could have been more than sixty years ago when a very strange and futuristic vehicle blocked the exit from the main entrance of his factory.

I have had 2 so far and agree. My thought in ordering the Porsche was that it would provide similar results for a lot less and it would have all of the new tech.
