Thought I'd check in with the experts here. I've got a 2013 Tag Heuer Carrera that I purchased new in 2013. Great looking watch, but honestly I haven't worn it in at least 5 years, and very unlikely that I'll be wearing it much in the future. A jeweler said it's $550 to service the watch.

Since I just got the call, I did a brief search and seems some are on eBay for about $1k-$1.5k. Any thoughts here on whether it's worth getting serviced, or if it has any trade-in value? Whether or not I get it fixed, it's probably going back in the box for a few years, although the fix may encourage me to sell; just not sure what something like this would realistically sell for.

If you're not going to wear it and the watch is still running, I wouldn't bother with a service. Just sell it.

Most Tags are of minimal value used. Agree with Rory. If it works, sell it.

I agree, but I failed to mention that one of the less important hands stopped working, so I either sell it and discount the repair, repair and maybe sell, or forget about it for a few more years. Currently leaning towards picking it up, and forgetting about it a while longer.

If something is broken in the watch, the service will cost more than the standard service cost. On some models, chronograph modules are complete assemblies that are not serviceable and must be replaced in entirety.

Had my Tag Monaco recently serviced by the factory. Of course while it was there, they suggested a few things be replaced that were optional, and I did them. Spent close to $1200 all in.

That seems super expensive. My Rolex is in the Dallas Service Center right now, they recommended a new bezel, crown and crystal and the estimate is $1400.

It was ridic expensive. They suggested replacing a bunch of stuff - prob not needed but watch has sentimental value. Prob spent near the value of the watch. Plus an additional $300 for custom strap

TAG Heuer watches do not seem to hold much value. However there are a few from the 80s that were linked to Senna that are a few thousand.

Heuer watches from the 60's and 70's are valuable. they are not in the Rolex, AP & Patek class, but they are great watches - iconic for Racing. Autavia, Carrera, and Monaco's are valuable
