The light halo’s don’t look good to me. They don’t look half as good as the halos on the group buy!

I have an F1 with zero issues. Mine is a 2008 though, not sure if something changed in the years to prompt the error

Interesting, thanks. So potential variation in the model year (F1 electronics changed significantly in 2008), or the lights themselves.

Since Morimoto won’t step up to support their product, I ordered the SIS Techno harness because that was what the other member did to fix the known problem with the F1 error- but thank you

My guess is poor quality control from overseas where the lights are manufactured, and no testing/verification process by morimoto on their inventory as they would rather send out substandard product to customers and make support difficult.

I also ordered the No-F1 module at Scud Ing Swiss. Allready went back to OEM lights on my car but will give it a try with the module.

Do you have any other mods to your rear lights or third brake light? Mine have been fine.

I have a Novitec Led 3th brake light. It worked fine with the OEM lights but with the Morimoto Led lights it gives a F1 error.

I'm thinking this is the issue, I don't know why. I think the other guy had the same set up as you and it gave f1 issues. Maybe the 3rd brake light alone with stock, keeps the systems power draw close and and happy. When you add the aftermarket it pulls a little but too much to trigger the F1 error. I don't know much about electrical, but just a thought. Wonder if you connect the stock 3rd brake light would it be OK?

I use scuding Swiss’ third brake light and don’t have issues.

I’m more inclined to believe it’s a random issue with some of the controllers that are supplied with the lights or something year model related.

Finally got around to installing my Morimoto lights after receiving them a couple of months ago. Easy installation- but got the F1 error light just as some others have indicated.

I have a 2007 spider. I had previously installed the Scud Ing led brake lights as well as the led 3rd brake light.

After seeing the code I took one of the led cables that came with the led brake lights (same as the cable Scud Ing is offering on their site) and hooked only one of them just to one side’s outer light (this is what they suggest doing on their site). This immediately solved the problem.

Took the car for a long drive - all seems to be working perfectly.

You should not have to do that though, the lights should be fit for purpose and they are not out of the box. Unbelievable that they don't work properly given the price, and given the feedback it appears Morimoto don't want to know!

Having read the recent updates I think it's unfair to blame Morimoto for this. Unless I am mistaken, it sounds like a combination of too many LED replacement lamps causing the problem.

I think it's fair for a manufacturer to design a replacement component expecting that other components are still stock. Could they do better? Yes, but is it totally their fault? I don't think so. Two aftermarket parts (tail lights and 3rd brake light) are causing the problem when used together.

hi, I just got my morimoto f430 lights to Sweden. I of course have the same problem as everyone else with eu spec. both you here and morimoto say that you should put the cables in reverse order, but what do you mean? which pins should change places? it was, as you say, quite easy to "depin", but I need to know how they should sit later.

I think the photos in this post show the new wiring order:

    https://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/posts/149231127/

    Yellow plug (inner)
    1 Orange (rear fog)
    2 Red/black (reverse)
    3 Unused
    4 Black (earth)

    Grey plug (outer)
    1 Red (brake)
    2 Blue or Blue/black (turn)
    3 Yellow/black (running lights)
    4 Black (earth)

Maybe @F131 one of one can confirm this

Taco, you've listed different wire colours for the brakes. Orange is actually the rear fogs (according to the F430 wiring diagrams).

thanks! I understand the colors of Ferrari's original cables. but all the cables on the eu spec connector are black, therefore I wonder which pins go to which.

    I see what you mean.

I was earlier trying to help someone wire up a Morimoto USA F355 adaptor to a European car and it involved some wire cutting and splicing on the Morimoto adaptor, so it looks like the same process with the F430. However, the F355 USA kit came with a wiring diagram. It was easy to tell which plug was which by looking a the unused pins and following the wiring:

There seems to be a lot more wires on the Euro F430 Morimoto adaptor.

Well I finally got it working, pretty much all the cables are wrong from the start, which is kind of fun. I am very pleased with how the lights look on the car. But it lacks a little in quality. I had a small scratch on one lamp already when unpacking, and on one lamp the clear coat had run a little.
and let's not mention that they actually sell eu bolt on cables for $100 without mentioning to buyers on the other side of the atlantic that it is really not bolt on .

Is it just the picture, or are half of your LED's not lit on the right side?
