Hi All! It’s been quite a while since my last post. I’m planning to replace the 11 year old Bridgestone S-04 Pole Position tires on my 575. The tires only have 6,000 miles on them since install and are not exhibiting any sidewall cracking or unusual wear. However, out of caution I feel it is time to replace them. Since Bridgestone is no longer offering the Potenza Pole Position tire I’m curious to see what tires fellow 575 owners are running. I have factory 19” modular wheels. Any thoughts you have would be appreciated. Thanks.

John sorry for the quick hijack. I should add you to our 456/550/575 bay area "Conversation" DM thread. We have only as a group gotten together this past month and then last September (once yearly) but it would be fun to for gatherings more often.

Michelin Pilot Sport 4S are the best current tires for street-driven Maranellos with 19" wheels. Looks like they will be replaced by the Pilot Sport S 5 in the near future. The Aston Martin DB12 is the first car I have seen fitted with the S 5.

11 year old tires scares me to death....although I do drive fast. I change my tires out at 5 years max....no matter the miles. don't wanna be at high speed and have an issue with old tires. Cheers!
BTW, MIchelin 4s on my 360....great tires!

Big fan of PS4Ss. But don't confuse them with PS4. Totally different tyre.

I will work on getting a group together.

We have to try and make the largest gathering of Maranello's in the West Coast!

I have driven so many Maranello's especially 550's with the rear grip being absolutely horrible and squirrelly.

Having stated this, my 575 never breaks traction under hard acceleration which is due to the fact that it has a new set of Pirelli P-Zero's. IMO these are the softest stickiest tire for the first 0 - 2,000 miles and then the drop off is quite significant.

The Michelin Pilot Sport 4S are brilliant and my TDF was delivered with them, so it is really saying something about these tires.... Also, I have driven the new D12 and the 5's were even better.

I will definitely put a set of 5's on the 575 when the time is right.

I've been impressed with the conti I have on now. But any of the crop of 200 twr tires are superior to just about anything in the higher Tread wear. When I buy my next set it will be something in 200 twr.

I was not impressed by pirelli p zeros or the mich 4s.

For 18s, the revised Continental are superior to the Michelin offerings as there is no P4S rear made, you are stuck w the decade+ old MPSS which has several issues.
For 19s, the revised Continentals are more or less on par w the P4S. The continentals have better/sharper steering, similar wear/life, but slightly harsher ride vs the P4S (conversely has duller/more sluggish steering input).

Will add if you don’t care about ride quality or tire life, best tire for all out performance would be Bridgestone RE-71rs or Michelin Cup 2.

I used the former. It’s very very harsh but the steering and grip are sublime. Avoid rain/cold (<50 degrees F/10 degrees C) or you will be trouble quick.

Michelin PS4S is what I have currently on my 550. Excellent choice, really like them. Have heard good things about Continental ExtremeContact Sport 02. For a street tire, between these two tires probably can't go wrong. Pirelli P Zero has gotten mixed reviews here, and I'm personally not a fan, but these are perfectly fine, too. So, there's 3 decent choices for you.

question related but unrelated. I'm looking to add 19" wheels to my 456. I've read many threads on here and other sites and I'm pretty sure it'll be alright if not spectacular - with 325/30 on the rear, and 255/35 on the front BUT no one ever discusses the offset. the wheels i'm looking at have front offset 28. Again i'm pretty sure it'll be fine and not rub/scrape. Can anyone with 19's give me their offset, and if everything is ok?
    thanks
and I will post this question in other 'appropriate' sections as well
