Thank you, I know that and have specced it for the Viola version, BUT I cannot understand why the yellow caliper is different to the shields. I know it is enamel but still.....

All personal preference but I also don’t like yellow, so no shields and carbon wheel cups. I’m also probably in the minority on this but I think shields should only be on race cars as intended. When a salesman says certain options are a resale necessity, I do the opposite. Never had an issue.

May I ask what kind of wheel cups would you take for matte corsa wheels? Glossy black or grey/silver? Haven't seen the latter live.

I think they’d both work depending on the final exterior color and what carbon options were selected.

I think no shields is way way way too under-rated option on the 296 and even a lot of f8s.

The yellow on the side of the car doesn't always flow with anything else, other than the optional yellow brakes.

Is it possible to spec the standard wheels in black color?

I know, not the question, but ever consider a matte finish? My 812 has blu swaters Opaca and it looks amazing.

Yes, thought about it but honestly I did not find a color I like. I saw a verde mansoni opaco 812GTS, but with the smaller size of the 296 it isn't said that it will look as good as on the 812. About what matte color did you think ?

Not sure what’s available but worth a look. My 812 was Tailor Made so options were limitless. I get tons of compliments on the blue matte finish, so I’m partial to that if it’s even an option (note: I’ve never seen it before on a Ferrari) Image Unavailable, Please Login

Very cool. They have had opaco colors as options (32-38k) for a while now, but that is sharp.

A cheaper and more protected alternative is using a satin or matte PPF over regular metallic paint, so it's more like regular paint price plus $7-10k (that many of us are spending for the clear PPF anyway). Here's a TdF blue F8 with stealth Xpel:

Certainly a good option. My 812 was clear wrapped over the matte finish to protect the paint. To my surprise the color/ finish masks the dirt. My former Rosso Corso F12 required much more frequent washing to look great.

Certainly the factory spec makes it more valuable. Funny though that we spend $400k+ on the car (probably over $500k for TM 812) and $30k+ on the paint and then we still have to spend $8-10k on third party plastic* to protect it.

I've posted elsewhere that I'm actually looking at satin PPF for my pending 296, especially seeing this Stealth-wrapped one:

Here's a factory opaco verde Masoni that looks incredible to me, how it brings out the lines of the intake/beltline and fenders:

*Factory PPF option has obscenely bad application. Quite embarrassing, really, that they can't get that mastered. Among others I've seen, the demo 296GTB had it, and with a few thousand miles it was peeling edges by the fenders and vents, clumps of dirt under the quite visible seams, etc.
