I'm very disappointed in some of my friends for the vile treatment of someone they do not know (and if you turn out to be a communist I'll be disappointed because I like to trust people by nature)

I agree with you re Mabo and the apology, scare mongering has always driven the population to the conservative stance which is why the LIBs have always used this tactic rather than offer Australia some vision, even if that vision requires some pain.

I'm still voting NO as I see no REAL forward progress for the aboriginal community, I hate this First Nation rubbish started by overseas aboriginals from Canada, etc as they think it will instill guilt into the "invaders" but people like my family that have been here since 1851 are taken aback by "Welcome to Country" and "Acknowledgement" acts as we have PAID for our land, worked hard, had families and in general have contributed to this country's wealth and standing in the world structure.

Aboriginals have been treated badly since the English arrived, TRUE , but imagine if the Romans or Spanish had arrived, the Romans would have killed everyone and the Spanish would have enslaved them and destroyed any structures (not that there is anything to speak of, and claiming the rainbow serpent and Ayers Rock just makes matters worse).

Personally, in the long run, I prefer the Roman way , kill them all and build a Ferrari factory for the masses

John the point being made by a number of Aussies here about KL, is that his only contribution to Aussie he's made is his political point of view on one subject.

He has made some minor Ferrari content on a couple of 296 threads and that's all.

No, the Voice is about money. It's a further attempt to screw more cash out of functional Australians.

The document itself is opaque and despite my layman's command of English, I cannot determine:

1. What the Voice is attempting to achieve for indigenous Australians. Especially in the context of what agencies already exist to serve indigenous Australians.

2. How this may manifest itself in the future.

If you can provide the answers to these questions by quoting the Voice documentation, I'm all ears.

As is the majority of Australians it appears.

 

I would also add that the Voice appears to be a federal government virtue signalling attempt to win votes with a referendum that has little substance. To me it's just about money.

I hope someone more learned than me can point me to the sections of the document that prove me wrong.

The sentiment amongst the people in the working class area where my factory is located is that they are sick and tired of subsidising welfare on strategies that have never worked. And show no evidence of working in the future.

 

I have been all ears trying to hear something concrete in regards to a better way of helping disadvantaged aboriginals; but I've heard nothing.

 

That’s because Elbo was expecting it to sail through on the “vibe”, which seemed to get him through the election campaign.

If you recall he was hopelessly vague on detail during that campaign and he still won so he figured he could do it again, forgetting that the reason he won was because Morrison was very unpopular and the fake independents got him over the line.

That same strategy is not working with the voice.

The whole dialogue about the Voice is so heavily politicised it's impossible to follow. I does to me appear to mimic a similar narrative to gender identity politics, climate change and the heinous effects of the internal combustion engine. Amongst others.

Despite billions of dollars of taxpayer funded studies, government bodies, departments, experts, consultants and war on both sides of the political spectrum, we've enabled a divisive and at times viscous dialogue that's got the hard working taxpayer offside with the very people the Voice is supposed to support. From what I understand of the document is seems to embrace racism, division and entitlement.

How is that working out?

A NO vote is just as valid as a YES vote and the left can try as hard as they can to shame the NO voters but it’s a pointless exercise
