My GTS has arrived at my dealer and I went to see it today. It has turned out exactly as I had envisaged it would and I couldn't be happier. I wanted to give it a fresh, modern look but with a nod to the past so chose Celeste Met 590 for the exterior with the roof in Nero DS. The interior is in Extra Range Cuoio Toscano semi analine leather with Grigio Chiaro inserts and stitching. I optioned the comfort seats with Daytona centres as I wanted the neck warmer function and had the stitching on the Daytona inserts done in Grigio Chiaro. I went for the seat backs in matching leather and took the CRPC carpet option to get the rear wall, centre tunnel and floor mats in matching Cuoio Toscano. The callipers are the Gold option and they are almost a perfect colour match to the leather. I optioned the full exterior carbon, carbon wheel centres and the black exhaust finisher. Spectacular build, I think you made some great choices with this one. Now put some miles on that thing!
Absolutely stunning. Congratulations Iain! Some wonderful decisions and brave choices have paid off. Masterpiece!
Stunning, and makes me very jealous! (I started with Celeste on my GTB but changed it in anger, after nearly 2 years' wait, when the price more than doubled... now torn with regret).
Bold but works perfectly.. Carrs of Exeter, was down there on Monday picking up my F12, big shout out to the them, team is excellent.
The cost increase for this colour was implemented just before my spec was accepted by the factory so I know how you feel but I'm glad I stuck with it.
Yes, I've dealt with them for 15 + years now and they are great. Harvey did the mechanical restoration work on my four Dinos. I was chatting to him today and he told me he now has 30 years service there.
Iain you have provided great insight as usual on this latest build specification for your open 296. No mention though of which Ferrari program you utilized to accomplish this wonderful example. Was it Atelier or something else? Your 296 is a real treat to see in detail here, thank you! Was one of the Dino cars painted Celeste?
I did the spec myself. Everything on it are options that a dealer can request for a regular production slot. The seats added an extra delay to the build time due to the use of Extra Range leather and the contrasting side bolster inserts and deviated seat centre stitching. I bought a set of the dealer swatch books for the leathers, carpet, alcantara etc, got hold of a set of the paint swatch booklets and did a lot of spray outs of speed shapes in various colours so that I had them at my home to sit and look over almost daily until I came up with my favourite spec. My dealer then was able to render the car for me on their configurator and produce a PDF brochure of it. There were some interior options - seat bolster inserts for example - that they couldn't render. Love the spec... looks really great For mine, I going to do without the black roof two-tone... I think that just depends on your body color... I'm doing Blu Corsa
I'd do the color matched roof just on principle even if it looked worse ... I'm not paying that much for extra layer paint just to delete a quarter of it, unless they discounted it by a quarter. isuk, the car looks incredible ... congrats!
Another message to congratulate you on a beautiful spec. Cuoio Toscana is an expensive extra (what isn't with Ferrari) but the color is very rich, I looked at it next to standard cuoio, way richer. I think they offer both smooth and textured I believe, yours seems smooth? In any case, awesome spec and love the fact you bought a set of dealer swatch samples! Lastly I really think CRPC makes a huge difference vs normal carpet, especially in contrasting color (Terra B on mine) Image Unavailable, Please Login
Isuk, great configuration , bold and it paid off. Love tieing the calipers back to the interior . Do you have any shots of how the tunnel etc turned out with the CRPC option . Enjoy driving your creation !
There is only one version of Cuoio Toscano in the dealer swatch samples. It is one of the four semi aniline leather options and they all share the same grain (texture) surface finish. It is quite subtle so hard to capture in a photograph but here is a comparison shot of the regular Cuoio smooth leather next to the Toscano grained analine version. I first saw this leather back in 2011 when there were private viewings of the then new FF in a display area next to the first Atelier studio. I loved it and have waited for the right car to option it on ever since. The upscale charge is not insignificant but in the overall scheme of things it's not one of the more costly options given the impact it has on the feel and look of the interior. One positive is that you only pay this charge once and can then have additional areas trimmed using it - like the CRPC rear wall/tunnel/carpet mats, and BAC1 leather seat backrests - for the regular cost of those options which is why I went for it. The more areas you cover with it the better the value. Image Unavailable, Please Login The grain is slightly more visible in this photo. I took the ventilated seat option which brings perforated leather to the central seat inserts and adds more visual texture to the seat design. Image Unavailable, Please Login
These are the best shots I took of the centre tunnel. The forward section is finished in black alcantara and that carries on into the footwells, the front section of the mats and the inner door sills. It matches nicely to the black alcantara around the door pull areas and the A pillars. The Cuoio Toscano leather covers most of the centre tunnel and runs around the lower rear wall and into the footwell mats. The BAC1 leather backrest option is well worth considering for anyone choosing any leather colour other than black on the comfort seat options in a GTS. You really notice it with the roof down.
