I've gone thru the entire owner's manual - and can't find how to program the 3 garage door opener buttons located on the center rear view mirror.

    Can anyone help?

programming the homelink button in your vehicle is easy. all you do is hold the hand held transmitter near the button in your vehicle and depress both the homelink button and the transmitter continuously for around 60 seconds, until the light flashing pattern changes to a quick pulsing flash.

now if you have the more sophisticated, so-called "rolling codes", the process is more complicated because you first have to tell the garage "receiver" to go into the learn mode (get a ladder and find the special learn button on the receiver; you will need to depress this button prior to programming your vehicle).

the instructions can be obtained on the homelink website:

    http://www.homelink.com/home.php

keep the faith: you CAN figure this out!!

Can the Homelink Feature be added later after delivery? My mirror does not have the 3 buttons so apparently I did not order the system (I can't recall). But now I would like it.

I have done it with a Ford model, replacing original mirror. Would think one could do it with a F model car.

First try to erase any previous settings by holding first and third buttons down simultaneously until rapidly flashing. Ignition must be on. Then using your handheld transmitter press the button of choice and hold the transmitter button down and the desired home link button down next to each other as described above. Again ignition on. When home link button learns the transmitter frequency now pair it to the door opener by pressing the learn button on opener and within 30 sec, press home link button. It may take 3 separate tries before door opener responds. This worked with an older Genie lift circa 2000. It did not require a bridge adapter.

You can buy a plethora of aftermarket electrochromic mirrors with homelink and compass built into software. The big problem would be if the mounting tab on windshield would fit. It has been done. Do a deep search as IIRC someone on chat had done that. The wiring in the OEM 458 mirror has 7 wires. 2 are dedicated to the homelink module pos/neg and 5 are for the electrochromic part of the mirror. I had mine rebuilt by Scott at radar-mirror in Frisco TX. He might be able to add such a module to your existing mirror or you can source one from one of the Ferrari part distributors.

Added the EC mirror with homelink to my 458 some years ago at the Ferrari dealer. Around February they have a sale so it wasn’t too bad and I use it every time I leave the garage (and enter!).
