Been there, done that. From the right seat, you could see exactly how far the boom was extended for fine adjustments. Never pulled the Penthouse trick, though. Too busy.

Whoa! What a sad story. My dad was stationed at what used to be El Toro Marine Base. Those hangers were so big they had their own weather inside, I think I was in second grade when I went through them, and were certainly a landmark. I had no idea they were made of wood, I thought they were made of concrete. They where probably the largest doors in the world.
