The Video has not captured the sounds on track very well most likely due to location of the mic and wind
Firstly, you can't expect a turbocharged V6 to sound like a N/A V12. Secondly, there are new sound regulations now. Still, those videos are not representative of how the car will actually sound, but don't expect it to sound like the LaFerrari. What matters most though, is how it will sound inside. What impresses though is the speed and manoeuvrability of the new hypercar!!! BTW, even racing prototypes, without all these restrictions, are not very loud and sonorous these days: They sound good from inside though, due to lack of sound insulation:
Of course this car will be blindingly fast. Nevertheless something very important to some will be missing..
lmao different video recording, different equipment, new sound regs, V12 n/a vs V6 TT omg they sound different what a surprise... Apples for Apples Its not going to sound like a V12. The audio in the original Video was really really bad. Let wait for the final sound before we just the gun, but if you are wanting a N/A V12 sound from a TT V6 not going to happen... The 499P has a great full of life sound... Its not going to sound like the 296 road version.
I just prefer some apples compared with others.. But again this F250 will be a fantastic car no doubt about this.
'inside sound' can be fabricated in any fashion the manufacturer feels you could have it intensely loud inside and quiet on the outside for me this feels a tad un-natural though
Indeed the program is well along being concurrent with other developments. The variety will only be limited by your imagination; they certainly won't all be red this time.
Has anyone heard what McLaren’s timing will be for the P1 replacement? It’s been said that they’re working on a next generation V8 for the 720 replacement so one can assume a variant of that will make its way into the P1 successor.
It'll be electric. No clues on the timing, except that it'll be ready towards the end of this decade according to Leiters.
Incorrect. https://www.ricardo.com/en/news-and-insights/press-releases/2023/ricardo-and-mclaren-automotive-announce-long-term-multi-year-v8-engine-supply-agreement-partnership-for-future-high-performance-hybrid-powertrains
A lot to unpack here... Their basis for the assertion is simply the trademarking of 499 GTB, GTS and Modificata...that isn't reason alone to suggest that Ferrari will definitely make the car. Even less reason to believe that they will take their Le Mans winning car, homologate it and THEN make a higher performance version...? When have they EVER done this with a Halo car? I don't remember a LaFerrari M, and Enzo Pista or the like...? Then they go on to suggest that this will be an Icona model...? That seems a stretch to me. The Iconas are decorative throwback pieces, why on earth would they put it into the Icona bracket? Poor journalism. I don't doubt that the car will happen, but they're making logical leaps that simply don't add up.
It could well be! There may just be an element of brand protection. GTB/GTS/Modificata are synonymous with Ferrari, they have a car called 499P and don't want someone to go out and use the name 499GTB/GTS/Modificata for anything and have no intention of using any of those names for any vehicle
Nope. The 720 replacement is going to V8 - the P1 replacement isn't. At least according to Autocar's reporting from Leiters. So it's either Autocar giving us fake news, or the P1 replacement being electric. I for one wouldn't mind if it turned out to be incorrect. A new LaF-P1-918 trio with only the F250 having an engine would be disappointment of the decade for me. "McLaren Automotive CEO Michael Leiters spoke with Autocar about the Mission X rival and how it won't have crazy power. He argues the P1's purely electric replacement won't need crazy power because the engineers are working on limiting the weight penalty commanded by the batteries: "We don't want to make a car that is 2,000 kg (4,409 lbs) and 2,000 hp."
