I wound probably rather be a tech than laying brick or pavement as a construction worker. All are hard work and thankful we have people willing to do it.

Because my school is a magnet school, all of them will be going to college, so you are probably correct that most of them will be turning wrenches as enthusiasts not as professionals. However, what is interesting (encouraging?) is that many of them are interested in Southern Illinois University’s automotive program. SIU’s program is different in that they require their students to get basic NATEF and ASE certs in addition to their BA/BS.

Why do you say that, specifically? Is it hours, job demands, the pay, the industry, something else? What makes you stay, just done it for so long? Genuinely curious.

I have a nephew who is going through the Audi program at a tech college. He seems to like it overall, there's things he likes about it and things he doesn't, but so far seems committed to staying the course.

Also just sold a bike to a 20-something former MB tech, did it for a few years and got out of it to pursue finance, but didn't get into what he didn't like about it.

You realize those numbers are spread around the whole world? In terms of traditional Ferrari production numbers that’s considered a lot but these numbers aren’t far off from 430 & 458’s. The 360 is the most most raw feeling modern Ferrari and prestige examples will not tank. The exhaust sound is always on the top 5 list of best ever.

I don't think Ferrari is completely honest about production numbers. I'm will to bet there a quite a few more 360's out there then the reported 18k.

Just looking at the number of them I service, and the number other shops also service, and that is just in my local area..including the dealer. Never mind how many are south of the boarder etc. I'm will to bet the true number is in the 25k area..

Just a couple weeks ago I dug one out of a storage unit

I know I've read things about some limited edition models where people suspected that more were actually manufactured.

I have a set of Sessanta luggage for my 2008 612. In 2019 I got a tour of the Schedoni shop. On a wall was a chart showing how many sets of luggage they made for each model. Well the chart showed they made 72 sets of Sessanta luggage for a car that reportedly only 60 were manufactured.

Now it's certainly possible that some owners ordered two or more sets, or that some execs ordered a set for themselves (the set is extroadinarliy gorgeous). But it is one of those things that make you go hmmmmmm. o_O

I always consider production from the factory when speaking of rarity. Tipping at nearly 18k is where it is at. It is a fine example of manual PF Ferrari V8s of the era. Sounds great and looks great.

Cool, so only an 8.1% drop for the F8 Tributo in the past 12 months. Considering the dramatically higher interest rates, that's pretty good, IMHO.

Meh. I bought my Ferrari to enjoy it, not to speculate on future values.
