It should be fine I’ve seen a couple of tutorials. Hopefully it isn’t some special felt they used. Soon find out I guess.

    INTERIOR
Interior finished. Seats and harnesses fitted. I managed to get a nice second hand set of Willans 4 point race harnesses which give a nice patina also having them in red seams to really suit the car. Will be checking all the lighting circuits tidying up some wiring etc and then it’s on to headlight covers and getting them finished.

    SPEEDOMETER & DOORS

As the original TR’s didn’t have a speedometer there is nowhere on the dashboard to put one. To make the car road legal a speedo needed to be fitted, this required making a mount to locate the speedometer on top of the transmission tunnel. I’ve used a Hall effect sensor as a pick up for the speedometer that picks up magnets on a trigger wheel. Once these items were fitted and wired in I could get round to putting the doors back on. One last job to do is fit the headlight covers and then she can be test driven. What are you going to do with badges? I notice the one on the steering wheel boss is plain yellow. Or is it?

For now they will just be plain yellow. Obviously I’m not able to use Ferrari’s badges as they are Trade Mark protected. I will probably come up with a custom design that looks similar but doesn’t breach trade mark rules. This is what Rod Tempero does he modeled hi logo on the Scaglietti badges that we fitted to the original cars. I’ll probably do something similar and make the badges the same size as the Ferrari items that way if someone wants to the can swap the badges if they choose to.

    START UP VIDEO

As many have asked I thought I would post up a video of the car running. Would love to hear people’s comments. Personally I think she sounds pretty damn good but I am biased

Crikey, havent a clue what yours is worth!

Your recreation would be much more usable with a nice V8 tucked under the bonnet

Thank you Alberto. I’m very happy with how she’s turned out. I now have another to build in LHD for someone who wants to put it on the wall as wall art. I’ll post the progress pictures of this on in due course.

    HEADLIGHT COVERS Continued

Although I managed to fit the headlight covers I wasn’t happy using the Allen key bolts which is all I had at the time. These looked far too modern and wouldn’t have been fitted on the originals. Suitable slotted head type have now been fitted more in keeping with the original cars. It’s only a small change and most people would never notice, still I think it’s worth spending a little time on the smaller details.

    Hi
From my understanding the original 3D files used to make the moulds were from 0738. I wasn’t keen on the yellow paint scheme and as mine was going to be RHD I decided to go with a more traditional rosso scheme.

As strange as it may seem, a rosso color on a 250TR will make it less conspicuous.
0738 also had a gated gear plate.

Yes it did have a gated gear plate. The only car that didn’t was 0666 which was one of the two prototypes and incidentally was RHD configuration. 0666 was also used as the car featured in the game Forza 4 the rosso colour scheme I chose was from there.

I see you have done your homework Terry, 0704 being the second one.

Any idea why they made two RHD versions?

You need to make the passenger tonneau cover! Plenty of photos on Barchetta web site that details the changes to 0738, the level of detail on this car is extremely good compared to the re-bodied original.

Agree the screws used on the headlight covers are now more period correct

I can only presume this was the result of the 250TR being a V12 evolution of the 4cyl 500TRC’s which I believe were all RHD. This was probably the reason the 250TR prototypes simply carried over the RHD configuration.
