They could be knockoffs. I say that because of the cavallino on the right shoe. I think the official horsey always faces to the left, but I could be wrong.

Well, I’m sure they switched them so they’d ‘match’ on a pair of shoes lol…. They’d look funny if both facing the same way on a pair of shoes don’t ya think?

Although the one on the right does look fatter/bigger… will see when I get them but knowing my friend, they’re not knockoffs

this, i'm into fashion and spent quite a bit on designer brands

even those who are comfortable with spending that kind of cash on clothing aren't going to buy this and personally i've never seen anyone wear it or ever heard of anyone wearing it at any fashion week all over the world

Well, my girlfriend is from Italy and her family is still there. They're die-hard Ferrari fans, and hang the flag from the balcony on race day. They and their friends also look at this stuff and wonder who wears something so tacky. Italian culture and design has not been based on taking a logo from a designer and making it as obnoxious as possible in order to show off status. They obsess over the design itself, and the logo becomes the signature of the designs they love. In the US we obsess over the status of the logo and then assume the design must therefore be good since we don't know any better. There is also in their culture an appreciation for subtlety and minimalism instead of the "bolder is better." As the old quote from Antoine de Saint-Exupery goes, "A designer knows he has achieved perfection not when there is nothing left to add, but when there is nothing left to take away." There is a lot left to take away from these bedazzled designs. Of course I'm using anecdotes and making generalizations, but I still feel the perspective is valid.

I don't think the issue with Ferraris clothing line is particularly the syling being out of trend atm I just think it's a futile effort because everyone associates the brand with cars and it has no history of fashion

And you know what else they have done, they hired some designer to do their luggage and it is butt ugly. To make matters worse the luggage is no longer custom made for each model. It is now one size fits all. :(

Look for a large Tod’s logo embossed on each inner sole, with a smaller one on the outer sole.

Been to five dealers this past year trying to get a shirt for my kid - no one has merch anymore - but I can buy the whole Zoolander catalog. I think Ferrari pimped out the brand too much 15 years ago, but definitely seems to have overcorrected. Easier to get normal Bugatti and Pagani merch at this point

Why not? Ferrari takes a $2k japanese part, puts their logo on the box, and charges you an extra $18k.

Lol, PT Barnum was right! :D

If you want any tasteful Ferrari logo merch you have to go to Etsy or look at other "bootleg" options.

If Ferrari wants to offer all this ugly, weird crap, fine. But why can't they also sell normal-looking polo shirts, ball caps and such for us frumpy old farts? There is nothing clothing-wise currently on their official store that I'd be caught dead wearing.

I would venture to guess that 90% of Ferrari clothing sold are the shirts/jackets/hats you see many folks wearing that don't cost your first born.

Part of this could also be what's very common practice in business of halo marketing.

For purists, stop reading now, I don't want to create any additional mental anguish by reminding you Ferrari has been slapping their logo on stuff that has nothing to do with cars for decades.

The way it works is this. A company will sell offer some ridiculously expensive "top tier' edition for some crazy exorbitant amount, like say this traffic cone pretending to be a speaker for $6000.

Then, they will offer this made in China speaker that cost them $20 to make for $250, because suddenly - it's a good deal.

The biggest tip off? Notice you can't buy the $6000 one....

Lol, buying things just because they have the right “logo” is a topic for another thread.

Imagine the thinking behind buying a speaker because it has the Cavallino on it?

I just wish Ferrari would use this income stream to hire people on their F1 team who actually want to win and not just embarrass themselves race after race. :D

There are 2 types of luxury clothing

high fashion: Balenciaga, Gucci, etc. in your face stuff that you couldn’t wear to a meeting with serious adults.

quiet luxury: Zegna, Loro Piana, Bruno Cuccinelli

It seems like Ferrari owners would be more on the quiet side. I don’t really understand this strategy. Also some of these outfits require zero body fat. This is also not the typical Ferrari owner.

Now they are guilty of the worse offense, marketing purses to men. A couple of years ago fashion brands really started pushing this hard. I was shopping at a high end store and my sales lady pushed this idea to me. I told her “I will warn you one time. If you ever mention this again, I am done with this store. I will not pay money to be insulted. In fact, if you were a guy, I would have already punched you in the face”. It was quite a scene. They were absolutely shocked. They admitted that they were being pushed my upper management to do this.

No it's not. And I've been in the design business (fashion adjacent) for over two decades.

This. The Ferrari brand is not Balenciaga, it's Zegna. And this isn't even as cool as Balenciaga, it's a crappy version of that brand. Dumb af.

there's quite a lot of truth in that but there is also a lot of gucci etc which is fairly subtle, it's just most of the high fashion buyers aren't so interested in it, which is fair enough.

also - manbags aren't really uncommon at all now and really aren't going to turn heads in most places (at least in europe anyway)

No. Just no. I lived 25 years in Europe. And none of this crap was appreciated.
This just screams tacky and new money. But I guess that explains why ferrari is after it.

I have no idea if the human in that advert has indoor or outdoor plumbing. I can be plenty liberal and generally adhere to the philosophy "you be you -- just don't push it on me". But goodness gracious, this is a bridge too far.
