    This may seem like a foolish question, but I received a box for the 296 and there is not a lot of instructions on what goes in it. What exactly goes in this fancy carbon fiber box? I see the key fits in one spot, there is fancy little plaque in the other and then the big on eon the left seems empty. What goes in there?

    Thanks in advance for any answer. Still loving the car!

    I think it’s for a 1:43 model car! Mine arrived after delivery of my 296 and apparently this is normal. Maybe check with your dealer?

    Got it! That makes sense. The box only arrived today, about 2 months after the car. Perhaps the model will come a few months after that lol.

    Did the model match your car? Did you order it separately?

    Yes it matched perfectly! I’m quite impressed by the detail. The Rosso Imola colour appears to be an exact match - as is the interior colour and small details like the Carbon Daytona Racing seats complete with the same vertical black stripe. Mine is a RHD car too which was also correct on the model. So cool!

    They have been providing these replica spec 1:43 scale models with new cars since the California was launched.

    It's all pretty random with Ferrari. Haven't received my model for my 812 Superfast yet and that was delivered early 2021. Yet on delivery of my GTS on 21st September this year, I got a cigar box and a couple of other things but no model - don't smoke! Both cars were Tailor Made. At some point I may get models but I've given-up wondering when/if stuff will come.

    Didn't Ferrari send the model of the Ferrari puchased to the selling dealer who was responsible for then giving the model to his client? There was an article years ago explaining how the model builder worked with the factory. When a customer order was locked in by the factory they would send all the exact build details to the model builder. He in turn would create a scale duplicate of the Ferrari the client had ordered. There was the rare mistake I recall an owner would mention but in most examples the model was built to the correct factory specification.

    My model went to the dealer months after delivery. Salesman called me and told me he had it.

    at least you got yours! My F8 Spider model hasn't shown up 2+ years after the car now.

    Mine arrived last week! Car arrived in July and box arrived in October! It is a lovely touch - exact spec of my car down to the interior, brake callipers, exhaust etc.

    (ps the wing mirrors fell off as soon as it arrived but i super glued them back). A metaphor for Ferrari quality? :)
