    Good morning,

When I was warming up the car yesterday I noticed that all three brake lights were constant on. Car drives fine, but brake lights stay on regardless of pedal or hand brake are engaged.

I searched the forum and found a thread where the lights wouldn’t turn on, but that’s not the case as the switch is providing constant power to the red brake wire.

Any advice? Easy fix or better off taking to dealer?

    Thanks in advance,
    Joe

Unplug switch and see what happens. Probably a stuck switch.

When I unplug the red wire from the switch the brake lights turn off.

    Thank you!!
For replacement, can I do all from up top under the hood or must I access from driver side footwell?

It might be doable from the top -- i.e., unplug the wires, loosen the jam nut, unscrew the switch. I can't recall if there is another nut on the footwell side -- but you should be able to have a look and see.

Thank you all! I have a new switch arriving Friday. I’ll post photos of replacement if I’m successful.
