I had an experience similar to yours. Before I had my buttons resurfaced to get rid of the stickies, I bought a new set from Scuderia parts with what appeared to be the correct part number. My 2013 Cali has a factory carbon fiber center bridge that is original to the car, and the cannon plugs on the new set would not fit into the holes - they were slightly too large in diameter. I had a devil of a time returning them because they insisted the part was correct for my car. I finally had to send them close up pictures of the problem.

Btw, there is no 2011 Cali T, you must’ve made a typo.

Yes - I got too aggressive with cleaning the sticky buttons and went through the paint. Rather than sending them out I wanted to just just do an economical swap which I have already done with the window buttons.

I saw one of those sticky refinishing shops were selling adhesive stickers as a solution for those particular buttons, not sure the quality/fit/texture but would love to hear from someone who has tried them...would seem like a simple solution if it was a perfect fit and had the soft touch coating... I think they wanted like 35 bucks for each one.

So you just clean them up (remove old coating) and apply the decals?

Took the plunge and ordered one of these. Took 4 days to arrive. Was particular drawn to the "patented technology" and the lifetime warranty. This is how it arrived.

The texture isn't easily to explain, it's definitely not just a plain ol' sticker. It doesn't seem to be 100% identical to the soft touch material. It's also not a perfect cut circle which was odd... it's close, but you tell it's not perfectly cut. You can also tell it probably not going to be an issue.

The two patents are related to restoring a control panel by use of adhesive stickers, not regarding the sticker manufacturer/material itself.

I want to remove the old coating before I apply it, I'm afraid the partial missing coating might show through once I press it on.

    Just ordered a set myself.

Does anyone have the procedure for disassemblig the button housing?

There are a couple of small screws (easily dropped and lost) on the back panel. Take that off and the inner mechanism slides out.

I was referring to removing the center bridge cluster

Make sure the font is correct. We have those decals in stock and ready to ship, there are like 4 different R buttons with different fonts. We use them daily with great success

Do you mean how to remove the center bridge?

Yes - unscrewing the buttons and harness looks intuitive, but getting the center bridge off and flipped is another story.

Tedious but not all that difficult. It has to be detached at the rear, where it meets the lift top compartment, lift the rear end first then slide it backwards to release the front end. All the attach points are in the rear, and the front is anchored under the a/c panel. The wires can be detached or not, the only difference being that if not you will be restricted to working on it in the car and can’t move it around much. The advantage is that it’s even more tedious to unplug all the wiring. I don’t recall the exact location of all the screws off the top of my head, but I’ll see if I can find the pictures I took when I removed mine, and I’ll get back to you. I’ve actually got to take mine apart to repair my ‘AUTO’ button, I’ve just been putting it off. I’ll document it as I go along and let you know. Might be a few days. Please remember - it is extremely easy to drop the screws into the innards of the central tunnel where they will remain forever.
