It's a mass produced mid-market car. GM should have offered an option for a hand-stitched interior where it is shipped to a sub-contractor and released to the customer at the authorized dealer. With an option for an upgraded interior it would have crushed negative reviews about the interior - quality. At this point the General has little to no interest in the Camaro.

Even the Koreans for 30k do a decent interior. They Camaro alas is a committee car with different battles being fought by different groups, as opposed to a machine of more singular vision within a price, Im guessing budget went to mechanicals and they cheapend out on the rest. Fierro, great frame/tub, x car suspension, then they sorta fixed that in the last year by which time it was sadly dead. Allante, looked nice crap motor, last year got the NorthStar by which time it was dead.

The current camaro also never knew what ti wanted to be, a sports car or muscle car.

But the big sin is you're literally sitting in a cave with the doors reaching practically to your ears, then headache cheap interior, oh what could have been.
I could deal with the cheap interior is there was a lot of glass and way lower doorsill, or a great interior, but not both.

i ended up buying my Gulia out of the lease, couldn't really think of anything else under 80k id really be motivated to own. The BMWs hideous digital dash, the dodge maybe bvut tried one and its clumsy and dark inside, mustang just feels cheap, camaro we know, the alfa its steering is simply a delight and the power plenty for the road, great greenhouse, its light and airy inside, seats comfy.

A 2015 z28 imo is still one of the greats, way better greenhouse than a new camaro, nascar type motor, great handling, and something every special car should have, a sense of occasion.

Maybe ford will build some great mustangs now, I could get used to the digital dash because its not as offensive as the bmw one and its configurable in some cool ways, not my ideal choice but livable. However, the dark horse is a lot of scratch, and all for for what is essentially a tune and better gearbox over a Gt, its still bloaty with so so steering finesse and a bit soft. Plus that weirs mascara look on the front, wtf. But then its year 1.
I can see a mustang with a NA 5.4, great gearbox a bit lighter, some cool aero from the 300k one and stiffer all around, thats then worth 80k.

That BMW M2 is a performace target to meet if not beat, and the mustang is well off that pace.

Last month I picked up another buyers's special order for a 24 1LE 6spd manual. Just pm'd a guy on a Camaro forum who offered his special order without conditions. Turns out his special order car was placed with a local dealer in my area. The forum member contacted the salesman and set up the situation for me to just slide in and pick up the allocation. Copper free brakes is the only other option. The order for the car was picked up by the company and it is scheduled for production. No idea if I will actually take it home when the car is delivered to the dealer. The reason behind this is the distinct possibility the dealer may try to add something on at the end. They already know I am not going to finance or trade in. No clue if the dealer is actually content to sell, at MSRP + TTL. The dealer mentioned they would sell at MSRP. Will not pay for rust and dust (prep) and other tricks. They could care less if I walk. Others are waiting and willing to pay more.

Ive seen those cars on track and they are formidable, like Gt3 level track performance. Drove the regular zl1 and while I am not a sbc guy that motor is easily in my top 5 of all time, power everywhere, all the time all revs, nothing else like ti..

As to dealer games, yeah they're trying it on, but my impression is the car market is not what ti was and most dealers happy to have sales. Of course, the last of the zl1s may be a special case. But were clearly headed to recession and with the near global war on most people not really feeling like big purchases.
Whatever the car market was 2 months ago, and that's not the market of last year, its weaker now. Yeah maybe the last of has that premium, if the dealer goes ahead with you at msrp, thats goign to be telling in its own way. Pretty much the best performing "muscle" car of all time, synthesis of raw power and track prowess.

    Good luck with purchase.

    Thanks

I do know the 14/15 Z will hold it's value much better.

I think they're all going to be good, we shall not see their likes again, and not too many 1lts being built at all.
The problem with a 14/15 its its a used car, and one has no idea how it was treated and if low miles we might well assume those first few hundred were hard, which is the kiss of death. Same issue I have with a newish used Ferrari. Unless you know the owner and their ways, assume a newish low mileage used exotic was run by a fool, reved while the oil was cold etc.

I guess one can look at tires, and if they are from 2015 and unworn then maybe, even then its Russian Roulet.

new where you know its history is always best.

Even with modern oils which flow well from low temps, a proper warmup is crucial to longevity. All those metal parts need to heat and expand, and they do so at different rates. Aluminum pistons into steel bores etc.

I am a total believer that the first 500 miles of an engine determines its life(not to mention the Transmision gears etc), plus I never run any motor hard until its fully warmed. Great oils and change them at 5k miles(for road or 4 days for track use) or every year. Unless you know this, a 2015 car is a crap shoot.

Delivery day this afternoon. Picked up a Camaro
forum member’s 24 allocation. Just freak luck he ordered the car from a dealer located in town. Car was built sometime around 09 October and arrived yesterday. Production ends for good 07 Dec 23. I asked to pick up the car dirty to avoid any dealer prep. Still has the plastic cover on the seats. 398mm Brembo brakes with 6 pistons !! Huge. 305’s in the back with 20 inch rims. Exterior visibility is not that bad. 6spd manual. It will be a loooong time before I have enough miles to jump on it.

Riptide Blue applied to the Camaro will only be produced with the 24 model year cars.

    1SS.

I did not order the car from the dealership. Zero complaints with the way John (DFW area) ordered this car in 23 with Rapid Blue. R.B. was dropped after 23 production concluded. The original buyer went ahead with a C8 after waiting too long. Chevrolet picked up the order and built the car as a 24 with a color change to Riptide Blue. John listed the allocation on the Camaro6 forum with few details about the car.

You can notice a number of cars listed where owners bailed out and found a different car elsewhere. At times the original order is listed by the customer/forum member as an available car.

Any 24 ZL1 1LE manual (an automatic as well) will be a difficult car to locate. The order book closed some time around the 19th of October. 07 December the factory line will shut down.

The Camaro is much better looking when you compare the vehicle to a Corvette and other similar vehicles. The 6spd manual feels great. Easy to shift.

    ^^

Did not buy the car just for the looks. Although the brakes do look pretty. If that was the case I would have grabbed the Challenger Widebody Scat Pack. Canned beer price to compete with a Porsche GT3 on the mountain passes? Of course we have no mountains anywhere around here. It's all as flat as a board.

    I'm a Highway Star !!!!!!!!!!!!!
