Hello back Ralf! I guess I have been lagging behind...So glad it made it back safely and ...with the wheels. Yay I am happy for you. Kind regards, Alberto
Good Morning Alberto I`m happy that you are updated now! Yess i was a little nervous indeed until i got the massage from Bill, that everything was going so well. Now i hope that the next step will work as well. Bill told me, that he will need the german Documents/Title of my Dino to go online at BAT. I was happy that i could get it sended out last Saturday 5:45pm by DHL EXPRESS. That was my one and only chance because on Sunday EVERYTHING is closed in Germany and we were leaving on Monday on 6:45am to the Bahamas from where we go to San Diego on the end of next week for a final hug and the last farewell for my beloved Dino….. As soon as Bill has received the documents, which will be now on thursday Nov.9th in the afternoon if the DHL-Tracking is correct, i believe he will go online with the Dino. Have a beautiful Day, Ralf
My first Longdistance-tour after i have bought my new „Johns Dino“ has been from my home (BOCHOLT - that time a little town close to the Netherlands) to Zandvoort at the Netherlands Coast in summer 2010. Image Unavailable, Please Login When i bought the car from Candi Corbani, she told me, that her daughter Donna had married a Student from the Netherlands, who was on his studies in Santa Barbara and now she is living with him in Zandvoort. Donna is an Artist with her own Gallery and when i visited her, she was very surprised and said „oh my Dad´s car, i had driving school on it…“ That first time such a „long“ ride had been an adventure for me. The Dino and i didn`t know each other and i was the one, who was a little afraid if we would make it. The Dino was running perfect without any issues. So i started to trust this beautiful maccina italiana and a part of Europe became our circuit. I understand very much what John meant, when he says, that this cars have to be driven!
In the times that follows, there were a lot of much longer Tours…. Image Unavailable, Please Login as also the famos weekly Grocery-Tour (in case the weather was dry!) including a stop at the Bakery….. The Bakery-Drive has been made more times a Week. ……you are right. The decision to let it go wasn`t lightly, but once decided is decided. I don’t want to expose my deepest mind here, may be i am a complicated person. Of course here on ferrarichat i`m not able to report the last 14 years of my „Johns Dino“. Years from my late 40ths to my early 60ths, years in which it was an honor for me to be it`s owner. But to show and to report a few things here from that time, is a kind of therapy for me. And may be it doesn`t sell….. i take it back home and do what has to be done, i drive it on.
To have a license plate at the back AND the front of a car is the german law. Image Unavailable, Please Login I have kept the front license plate inside the car over all those years. 95% of the police officers who stopped me to check my drivers license agreed that it would not fit the car so well, the rest of them were very german…. I had the chance to speak with Ralf by phone the other day. I can say there could not have been a better steward for such a great car!! Shawn
Hello to All of you ! In the following Screenshots i will show my latest conversation with Bill Noon of https://symbolicinternational.com/ who the most of you will know. May be there is anyone out there in the Chat who can help to find an answer to Bill´s questions about the performance of my „Johns Dino“ Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login This was my answer to Bill this morning: I did not make any modifications to the engine. The engine is still untouched as John Corbani left it behind. But the Dino got a very exelent tune up made by Graduate Ingineer Sebastian Giannone from https://turmgarage.com/ who`s passion is italien sportscars. Usually he make the service for all my 911`s. I be shure he did a great job on the Dino. Image Unavailable, Please Login If someone know something, please post it here on the chat, or send it to Bill by Mail! Thank you all !
