Just the facts. Never spend another owner's money. Daniel did have Fabio's headers. He just had small rear mufflers added to tone it down a bit.
Exactly, Terry. 2018, i picked up 6-1 headers with cats for my 550. The 550 had a Fuchs X Pipe and Fuchs rear mufflers without valves when i bought her in 2010. With the 6-1 + cats, she sounded so awesome, that i added 6-1 header with cats to my 599 in 2020. My 599 had Tubi cat delete pipes and Tubi rear muffler, with Fabio's headers and cats it was incredible loud. So i changed to original rear muffler, much better with closed valves, but from about 3000 rpm, when the valves opens, much to loud for Germany. So Fabio constructed some small silencers which were placed instead the Tubi cat delete pipes. Then the car was perfect, high pitch V12 sound on an acceptable level. Only some days after i had the perfect combination, i got a big engine problem, caused by stupid mechanics 9500 km (5 yeears) before. So i sold the car and changed to an 812 SF. First pic Tubi pipes vs Fabio's silencers, second pic with Tubi cat delete pipes, third pic with the small silencers. FYI, I'm in the middle of installing mine right now. Have all the old exhaust out and the headers loosely mounted. Getting the original exhaust manifolds off has been the worst part by far. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Thank you Daniel, Do you think keeping the stock rear muffler and the stock center cat resonator with the Fabio 6-1 heads that it would be too loud?? Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat
I think Germany is different in law with loud cars. So what's good in the USA is not good here in Germany. 6-1 headers and cats from Fabio + straight pipes (Fabio's or tubi or others) + original rear mufflers were to loud for me here in Germany 6-1 headers and cats from Fabio + original 2nd cats + original rear mufflers should be the same level as 6-1 headers and cats from Fabio + Fabio's silencers + original rear mufflers but i won't go with these original cats, because i'm sure they cost power. The small silencers are absorbation silencers without back pressure. If i would have again a 599 GTB, i woild go with 6-1 headers and cats from Fabio + Fabio's silencers + original rear mufflers. For me it was perfect, loudness level like an original GTB but with the high pitch from the GTO. + Trevs software optimize for gear changes - that should be perefect.
Thank you for your help Daniel! I am working with Fabio on this now. Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat
it is a big difference on a 599 vs. a 550 because the 599 original rear mufflers are much less restrictive than the old heavy 550 original mufflers. On my 456M I had at one point no catalyzers at all and both straight pipes and an X-pipe with the original rear mufflers very similar to 550 mufflers and the car was perfectly comfortable and quite quiet. So if you put on your original 550 rear mufflers on the car it will be MUCH more silent than woth any aftermarket "sport" mufflers. It would be very interesting to hear an owner's result and opinions with 6-1 headers and original rar mufflers!

You will love the sound and the extra power. Make sure and have Trev breathe on the Motronic ECUs and your TCU.
I need to stop checking your updates, it's turning in a costly habit. I have the Fabio H-pipe and exhaust pipes and the car sounds great BUT seeing what you're up to is making me want the headers too . I've even started a discussion with Robin on here re getting parts to do a manual swap on my RHD car Not sure about that one yet..
I promise I won't stop! The car has to be absolutely perfect and aside from the Manual the Headers are equally as important. It's only a matter of time for you! I have been driving my Touring for the past 2 - 3 weeks as I went to the Vegas GP and I hadn't really had the chance to drive the 575 and I drove it yesterday and I have to say the whole event is so engaging and mechanical!
Ask Trev on the header update. I would think the software needs to be different with the much lower back pressure the system will be seeing.
I saved the box to use as furniture at some point . I just finished installing mine less than 2 weeks ago. It's of course fantastic.
Whilst we were in there it was discovered that the engine mounts needed replacing. So, another day is going to pass!! Hopefully tomorrow she will be all buttoned up. Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat
I get mine back on Saturday after 5 weeks in the shop having a whole range of work done. I'll likely be following you down the same Fabio path soon.
