No transformation yet. Really great site but very many errors and misinformation on the 0846 page. JG's car is a proven fake and has nothing whatsoever to do with 0846 with not a single part from 0846. See here. The 0846 page needs a major edit with all the JG nonsense removed.

While I don’t want to derail the barchetta thread your post justifies this obvious response/explanation:

Understanding how litigious Glik is you have to know JG would attack anyone and any site that doesn’t tell his revisionist history of his replica. It’s not an excuse but were I running a site without significant resources, particularly one as relevant and referenced as cc, I wouldn’t risk the fallout over it. I say give them a pass and trust that anyone who would consider the car to begin with is well aware of the facts and documentation presented on this site.

Do we have to contaminate every Fchat thread with this 0846 boredom? Give it a rest, it is what it is, who cares.

Hyperbole aside, 0846 is a perfect example of the subject that was being discussed. The need to make an offhand comment is simply extending the discussion, not giving it a rest.

What Steve is saying is 100% factually correct.
Steve took an incredible amount of flack on this site during those debates and yet at the end of the day, he was correct the whole time.
Steve proved his case to anyone who was interested in actually getting to the truth of the matter, personalities aside.
I personally apologized to him here, in the past, for being on the wrong side of the argument and having bought into JG's claims.
In my opinion a lot of other people should have, at least within their own minds, done the same.
Instead what we've had is this situation where for some he became a pariah. It shouldn't be that way in light of what we know now.
File that under no good deed goes unpunished.
For those who didn't like his style, put yourself in his shoes coming up against JG- who apparently threatened to sue him (give me a "elfin" break) over opposing JG's views.
Quite frankly, I'll not use your words, but in light of the fact that what Jim concocted and then steadfastly refused to back off of, your judgment should be pointed in his direction, not Steve's.
If we want to live in reality, barchetta should make the changes Steve indicates.
I also think this site, as much as I like it, should catch up and move Jim's thread to Recreations & Non-Period Rebodies.

I agree and think Barchetta should update their website with all the new info, as they are at least trying to be consistent with their info when it is publically available such as the 0846 saga documented here. Those scared by litigation at this point might be overestimating Jim’s current interest in litigating these kinds of things when he’s got other things draining his resources.

That said, the thread is about a real Ferrari P3/4 0846 which may no longer exist, but once did, so in my opinion it is in the right place, despite much of the discussion being about the car that currently displays that chassis tag.

Fair point but is it though?
I mean there is 0846 content in there (thanks in part to many but perhaps the best 0846 content in there is Steve's), but the first post is L Wayne sharing JG's now-debunked claim. And the conversation throughout the thread is rooted in that debate.
Anyhow, I've made my thoughts on the subject clear and I apologize if I have derailed this barchetta.cc thread. Cheers.

Actually, “Pathetic.” Is NOT a complete sentence and ginge82 seems to be very obsessed with miurasv. That’s not meant to be a dig on anyone, but is a provable fact…search Steve’s posts and look at the obsessive responses. Patterns exist.

Jesse Glickenhaus was born in 1982 and also has ginger hair, hence ginge82, so may well be a fit?

Goodness me. Can you people never let go. Please set up your own forum where you can argue forever and leave us Ferrari fans to talk Ferraris. This thread is about the future of barchetta.com

Talking about www.barchetta.cc is where many classic Ferrari enthusiasts go to to get specific racing Ferrari and classic road Ferrari chassis information, so it is on point to talk about the site here, as it is about Ferraris, and discussing the accuracy of the information published by the site, and where known false information is published, as here, that should be remedied/corrected.

Ferrari have always clearly stated that 0846 is no more. Please pay attention. Among things they have said is that 0846 was dismantled after Le Mans 1967, the chassis never used again and scrapped.

Jim's particular car has never been submitted to Ferrari. He never submitted it. Why would Ferrari comment on a car that has not been submitted to Ferrari? Ferrari and Ferrari Classiche is a business that they charge a fee for examining any car. A fee has never been paid. Why would Ferrari comment without the fee? If Ferrari have not commented on Jim's particular car, as Jim never submitted it to Ferrari for examination/scrutinee, does not mean it is or could be 0846. Jim's car IS a FAKE. All the evidence is HERE.

what are you talking about? Ferrari sues fakes all the time, even if they weren't submitted. Why haven't they sued Jim?

Perhaps because Jim didn't build it? They seem to go after constructors of fakes and not owners who came later…

Because he is "il Grande stronzo"...and Ferrari, does not want to butt lawyers with a fellow with $$$, and a biggish name.
There are always exceptions in life. Many come to mind.

Wasn't Jim the first one to call it real though, David Piper never did.
