    I think this topic deserves its own thread.

    If the requirements are:

    - acceptable ground clearance
    - moderate fuel consumption
    - full size spare
    - fairly priced maintenance
    - you can fix it on the side of the road
    - you can sleep in it

    I've narrowed it down to a Yugo.

    Thoughts?

    Nil I suspect.
    In fact even a spacesaver can be hard to find.
    Have a look at a new Rangerover,proper 4wd supposed to go anywhere......

    I’ve had 2 of those, extremely reliable and I’ve never bottomed one out while driving on rough Cornish B roads, cracking car for £25 back in the 90s
