Whom knows what car Simon should purchase for interstate events?

I think this topic deserves its own thread.

If the requirements are:

- acceptable ground clearance
- moderate fuel consumption
- full size spare
- fairly priced maintenance
- you can fix it on the side of the road
- you can sleep in it

I've narrowed it down to a Yugo.

Modern manual, and if it's too stiff change springs and shockers, also a car he can carry a spare in.

Having said a manual ,I'd be buying a paddle shift car

The requirement for a full size spare is surely going to be the most limiting factor.

How many proper sports cars have that?

 

Nil I suspect.
In fact even a spacesaver can be hard to find.
Have a look at a new Rangerover,proper 4wd supposed to go anywhere......

 

None ,thus it needs to be a car you can carry one in , Mustang ? A45 .

Better than nothing.

You'd fit a full size spare in the boot however.

 

It's all academic until something sells.

 

Give the current cars to broker and move them on (Chris,Glenn or Marl )

I had both Lloyds and a mob called BGS in Bris offering their services.
I may think about BGS as they deal with various sports models.

For under 80k you would get a manual Bullitt Mustang with less than 30,000kms
