I wish more people shared Gino's opinion of the 360 so I could pick up a couple more for cheap.
The 348 and the 355 is what I wrote. Im an old school Ferrari guy when it comes to design. I dont ever turn my head for the 360 or the 430, but when it comes to the Ferraris that came before and after, my head turns all the time . G
Up here in Canada the cars are rapidly falling in price. I have a 360 listed for 52k in the classifieds right now. F8's have TANKED hard..488's are being flushed out of dealer inventory for COST. Some are eating the interest just to get rid of them. 458's down 30k..but falling a bit slower. 430's down about 30-40k from peak. 360's are also getting a pretty good smack down.. G wagons..lol..
So... you're saying I was an idiot when I sold my Challenge Stradale (Rosso Scuderia, stripe, and everything) for $200,000 in 2005? That's okay. I agree. I was an idiot. I was afraid of it falling in value...
And I didn't include the 355 in the quote because it is a great design in terms of appearance, the 348 is not. And to be honest, while attractive, the 355 has many maintenance issues, so if you call a 360 junk in terms of mechanical design, which you did, is the 355 junk+ in that respect? Or uber junk? And again, I wouldn't buy any of these 3 cars so I don't have a bias to defend. I am curious though, do you like the other Ferrari products produced in this era ('99-'09) (550, 575, 456, 612, 599, Enzo)?
Everybody needs to keep in mind these are 20-year old Ferraris. The acquisition price is only the down payment.
F8's haven't moved an inch in the US this whole year.... so I seriously doubt the claim that Canada has... since Canada has always just followed the US 6 months to year later with EVERYTHING.... sounds to me like you saw CAD pricing and now for some reason, you're seeing USD prices and those look like the difference you claim lol.
F8's are being bought whole sale for 360k Canadian.. they are retailing in the low 4's Canadian funds..
Not to rub salt in the wound but I’ve got a couple of cars as you know. The CS is near dead last on the list of what I’d even consider selling.
Im in agreement with you on the 355 as far as build quality, but its design is incredible, the 355 blows the 360 and 430 away in the looks dept, and I do love the Enzo, 550 , 575 , 599, they look great, I believe the front mounted V12 Ferraris have less issues than the 360 / 430 s do , with that being said, again , they all look fantastic !! My disdain has always been for the 360, the 430 looks a little better, but not nearly as good as a 3 x 8. I love the 355 when it comes to the looks, same for all of the front mounted V12 Ferraris. G
Precisely. Whenever I see a "good" one listed for $80k-$90k I figure in another $20k+ to get it all sorted.
Not at all, no front mounted Ferrari V8s for me, lots of snowflake ****s driving them out here in So Cal though, just for status. I love all front mounted V12 Ferraris . Come out here and take a look at whos behind the wheel of these Californias , its funny for sure. Its a new world out here in So Cal, and Im sure other places as well ,when it comes to some of the people driving Ferraris, I see it everyday.Im happy to have had the Ferrari experience the way it was meant to be, and to have a machine that represents what Ferrari meant for so many past decades. I can drive mine just as good and as insane as I ride my motorcycles, and if Enzo / Ayrton or Luca were to ride with me in the passenger seat, Im sure they would all have a smile on their face. I dont think there are many Ferrari owners today that can say that. Im grateful to the Great Gig In The Sky for blessing me with the Ferrari experience. The work of art sits in my shop, cover and all, just waiting until the next time I wring its neck out...... Big G
Its about time, hopefully the prices will continue to drop , like a lead balloon. I cant stand greed, so theres that. I did not buy my Ferrari so I could sell it sometime, Ive owned it for almost 25 years, and will never sell it. Its a funny thing that there are so many used Ferraris for sale these days, they are trading like they are Toyotas. G
I am in Canada and see larger selection of 599’s on the market. Hope to find a good example before the spring. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I hate to say it..but this is reflecting the last crash of values. 45k countach, 30k testatrossa..etc. Remer back in the early 90's a TR or 512bb was 300k? Back then!! Well..I think we are witnessing the beginning of the same drop. I'm NOT saying a Countach will be 45k again..but there is a SERIOUS correction on the horizon. Back then there where far less cars to choose from and they still crashed. Now? We have triple the amount available. It's gonna hurt a lot of people.
I love my 360. It has been for me an amazingly reliable car. Always starts, drive put away. Love it, and the lines are like a beautiful womans body. Sometimes you meet people that when they open their mouth... any doubt you may have had is removed. Then again.. on these forums its WHO you listen to that you take seriously.
Hate to rain on your parade, but a same year 911 is much more fun than a 3X8 Ferrari. Plus, those were not good years for Ferrari, not good years at all. To me, a F360 is the first modern Ferrari. Hard to believe the initial MSRP was $149K. All of a sudden, there was a Ferrari you could drive like a Porsche. Listening to a F360 with a Tubi ripping down PCH in the fog is priceless.
