No 3. Forget the Led steering, just a gimmick. If you find that you can‘t live without, you can always change later.

I'm looking for a classic Rosso Corsa with the livery, racing harness and LED steering wheel - basically, the launch spec.

I still remember the day I saw it on its world premiere as a kid and that's how I want it.

I just bought one this week, exact same specs as your description. Ferrari approved, 43k km, 20% clutch, 50% brakes. Traded in a Roma for it.

I test drove it and had so much fun. They don't make them like this anymore.

When I got back in my gt3 touring it felt like I was in a rolls royce

I wouldn’t buy one without shift lights, that is one of the most visceral features.

I know I love it and it's part of the " race-like " driving experience.

Today Ferrari told me the steering wheel is out of production so in case I buy the car n.3 I would have to be very patient and find one on the second hand market.

I might have already found a customer for my F430 so I really hope to bring a Scud home soon.

Agreed, made the same impact on me and that’s the spec I bought to include the matte gold wheels.

I was referring to the options you gave us. What are the specs on each? Are they all that same spec?

They all look the same except for the n.3 which is missing the LED steering wheel

I am still new to Ferrari, the mileage/value throws me off. Inclined to go with a low mile car, but the premium is pretty significant with just a few thousand miles.

That said, I found “the Scud” but wife says something has to go ☹️.

I've had my scud for about 8 years now, and I don't think I'd ever sell it. It's a really light car with great power, and a ton of feedback. I think you'll be really happy with one if you want a very analog point A to point A car. The 2009 cars have the full carbon, whereas it was an option in 2008. Mine has the LED steering wheel, and honestly I don't even notice it. I race a 997.2 cup, and it has a light bar on top of the dash, and I rarely use that either though. My brain much more notices the larger tach, and I'm so used to it, I mostly shift by the engine sound. For the money, I can't think of a more exciting Ferrari. I think the scud is the best balance of power and handling that Ferrari makes. I chose this over a 360 CS, but would love to have a speciale one day. I don't think I could let go of the scud though.

the speciale is amazing but it lacks the slight feeling of terror that the scud and the CS have
the speciale is just so well finished inside and outside - and the gearbox is so smooth - that I felt the scud rawness was the more exciting prospect - and the price gap to the speciale, when I was buying, was huge

the three of them are unbelievable cars though, very little else comes close

You wont be sorry if you buy one. Worlds different from a regular F430. IMO, the Scud is a bargain even today. There is not much like it for the price and still selling for less than MSRP in most cases! Prices fluctuate but in the long term, it will only go up as people tire of the sterile turbo cars of today. Driver involvement like it is very rare and one must get into hyper-car territory to come close. I have had many Ferrari and Porsche cars (2 factory cup cars as well) and still feel the Scud is a special car. In fact, it will be my last Ferrari as none of the new cars appeal to me that are not stratospherically priced. Above being said, if the TDF were trading near list, I would be tempted! Enjoy, yolo.

I finally bought a Scud this year and its truly is one of a kind and I adore it. I also have a 430 spider and it’s a sensational car but very different from the Scud. I don’t think Scuds are for everyone, they will only appeal to real petrol heads, which I think is the reason why so many have a lot of ownership history. I think that it’s a safe bet that long term these cars will be sought after.

agreed. I’ve let a few friends drive my Scud who have cars ranging from 996, 997, 991 gt3 and 458s. None were expecting for the scud to be as “raw” as it is. While all loved it, most said it could only be used as an A to A car. But for those who only use their cars for weekend drives in the mountains and on track, they could not get enough of the scud.

If it were me I’d offer 170k for car #1, there’s something kinda cool to me about a high mileage scud (if the price is right).

I finally picked up mine and went for a drive up the mountains today. What an incredible car. So raw and unfiltered. I had the 992 gt3 with me as well, and going back to it the gt3 felt much easier, with a noticeably lighter steering wheel and generally more subdued. While I do believe the gt3 is the perfect car still in production at the moment, the Scuderia is special. If I had to choose one fun car to keep, I'd have no doubts.

I have to agree. I never once hesitate to take mine out based on mileage/resale considerations, and that is what makes my car such a joy to have (and because the price was right).

Hi Marco, looking for a scud myself and reading this thread, I was wondering whether you eventually found THE one.

I bought mine about 2 months ago…….im loving it so much that I’ve gone ahead and added the capris to cats as preventative maintenance. I’ve owned 2 360 CS’s and the Scud is much much faster.
