Like all of them it's a box on 4 wheels. Just in the 3 row houses next to me there are 4 black Range Rovers. One of them is supercharged with the successor V8 to the 4.2 in my Jag. I hope the mileage is better but SC Jag V8s ARE nice running engines. I just spent $6K fixing mine, mostly hoses (every GD one), new plugs, injectors cleaned and New pumps. I had the cam cover gaskets replaced too and my mechanic said the engine looked 5K miles on it not 68K. So with Mobile 1 they do hold up. Just not the hoses and plastic crap.

I wonder how that Ferrari V8 in the Trofeo cars will fair? The one I drove sounded OK but I didn't that much of a chance to open it up.

    I think I'd need a solid week with a car to evaluate it properly ... ;) :p

You won't get a dime for the extra $ for 3 layer paint and CF options. That money is just gone.

Those two options really clean up the exterior from the matte black plastic. But this car also has carbon brakes & buckets

Completely agree. But in resale no one will pay extra for them.

Mine doesn’t have the CF exterior but my PPF guy wrapped the black plastic in CF wrap and we wrapped the top in gloss black. Big net savings and 95% of people wouldn’t know it was other than factory. Have had an issue with the wrap near the exhaust tips that we have to redo.

Have definitely depreciated in the last 6 months but makes it easier to just drive it. Only real knock for me is the exhaust is too muted for my liking. If anyone has made a change they really like, would love to hear about it.

    I drove a 'c8 z06 3LZ' vs 'MC20' and would pick the MC20!

My son and i drove both cars a few weeks ago ... the MC20 looked and felt like an exotic and was very enjoyable to drive .... very similar to my '2022 McLaren 720s', just slower and without the 'kit car' build quality ... the 'C8 z06' did not feel that special, like a 'hopped up' version of a C8 ... which i had for 10k miles, 12 months ago!

I will probably end up buying both cars at some point, but will get the MC20 much sooner than the C8 Z06!

.... even if they were the same price, i would buy the MC20 first!

  17. Because it's branded a Maserati.

At least in the U.S., it might as well have been the "Yugo MC20"

Had it been an Alfa Romeo MC20 ...

As I’ve been preaching for years, there is nothing wrong with the product, it’s the network from Auburn Hills to the dealership level. No one wants to pay Maserati prices. To be treated like they purchased a Dodge.

Do you really expect people to take your comments seriously with such over the top and absurd criticisms?

Yawn, usual question, are you a Lexus or Porsche salesman tasked with negative competitor marketing? They show up here every few months.

It also means things are returning to "normal"

it will be interesting to see the fow of events for this car. Mercedes amg gullwings were a slow sell, and then sold for less than msrp. BMW z8 they were struggling to give away. Those two cars once out of production now sell for way more than their msrp not least because thy were a unique offering. Even the alfa 4cs are fetchign good money these days.

If the mC20 is durable i can see it following the same trajectory.
