Amongst the things within our control, the Ed Niles book from Octane Press is a nice bit of work from a enthusiasts perspective. The current sale seems a great value. I have no affiliation, just always appreciated Ed's participation in the forum and enjoy reading his history.
Agree. I reviewed the book at www.speedreaders.info I regret that I never knew Ed. It’s a delightful book and gives a good overview of the breadth of his Ferrari enthusiasm and knowledge. And, goodness…the cars! Every Ferrari enthusiast should have this book. We’re fortunate that he wrote it.

Problem is, Amazon and books didn’t work. Just got my last book delivery from Amazon and will stop now buying from them. I love books so much and was stupid enough to allow them to destroy 1 of 10 deliverys. Than i was that much more stupid to allow them to destroy 5 of 10 deliverys but now they reached a level of worst packing and delivery that with a little bit luck 1 of 10 is NOT destroyed… Will never do this stupid ordering again, Amazon and books didn’t work and they should be banned from book selling because they destroy a valuable good on a high level.
I use eBay for most of my on online purchases but it very much depends on the vendor I think as to the state of the book when it arrives.
I sell my books on amazon but I pack and ship them myself to ensure they arrive in the condition there sent.
Is anyone familiar with this book? https://www.gilena.it/libro/alfa-romeo-prototipi-1948-1962-2-volumes?nmmu_idnl=nl82
They are great! I have them already and like all the other books they have done on Alfa the research in impeccable!!!
Tom, May I ask did you buy the Alfa prototipi book set directly from the publisher? If yes, do they package and ship well, as I wish to order this set? Their Alfa Romeo books are indeed superb - wonderful period factory and carrozzeria archival photos.
Yes it was well boxed and had lightning fast shipping from Germany on DHL. He told me they might be doing a Ferrari book someday, and the next Alfa T33 book is coming very soon.
Some years ago, where the damages were very light and the books not that special i kept some to prevent that they were shredded when sending back. But in the last time all books very heavy damaged and i returned all of them.
Some years ago, I bought 'Beautiful Machines: The Era of the Elegant Sports' from the same publisher (Gestalten Verlag), and it was one of the worst books I ever bought. Nice images, indeed, but the texts were heavily loaded with typing errors and false data to an extent which I hadn't seen before (and haven't seen afterwards).
Anyone see this Ferrari book collection on BAT? https://bringatrailer.com/listing/ferrari-books-posters-flags-signs-magazines-memorabilia/
Agreed, great book I have one more copy than I need- anybody still need a signed copy still in the shrinkwrap? The book is mint/as new. There is a half inch tear in the shrinkwrap. Would $150 plus shipping obo be good?
I have the same book and agree. No dustjacket bad quality and the cover originally was supposed to have a maserati ghilbli the original on the cover . Book was a waste I got mine on ebay new sealed 28 bucks.
I have the miura book #574 orange slipcase, the register with white slip and the 550 but sadly not the red retromobile case but white one. Also just got the eb110 book from Hortons imsa edition I've read it twice. My only beef with it is the case gets dirty fast tried everything to clean off finger prints same with the silver cover of the book which won't come off and I treat my books nice. I reached out to Hortons to reach out to printers in Germany no reply from Germany yet been a week. Another downer is the book for the price is not numbered or signed. I have #10 of the 550 book and I like it read it twice but wasn't blown away. I may get Italian decade next. Nice to have some books as such same as my jota svj4860 book since I don't own the kidston jota version. I could be wrong, but I don't think that the sum of the books gathered here is worth $9500. Whatever...
