You’ll be done soon
Yes I had pan off but did not think to just loosen the selector fork. That makes so much sense now [emoji4]. Will do that next time…. Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat
Removed the starter wiring and fixed the wires with hardened insulation that I was too lazy to do first time around [emoji4]. I think my short was caused by the lug for the wire to the fuse panel arcing against the base of the tab for the ignition wire. Simply flipping the lug over fixed the issue. Engine cranked under power for first time since PO took it apart on 2008! Image Unavailable, Please Login Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat
Working on plugs, wires and coils tonight. Moment of truth tomorrow morning…. Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat

Crazy that I bought this car as it had back seats for my kids to ride in and by the time I got it done they are both driving themselves [emoji38] At least another GT4 saved. I bought this off craigslist in 2014 as a project car that was “all there” but in boxes. Engine out and partially torn down. Engine had been modified but with no records of what had been done. No one local wanted to attempt the rebuild and specialists outside of Tulsa weren’t real interested in taking on a modified engine with no records so had to go it alone with a local engine builder. Car had been painted but had very poor rust repair in doors so found an NOS pair of doors on ebay and them spent my entire reassembly budget have them fitted to the car. So then I took on the reassembly which kicked my a$$ then ate my lunch on many occasions but the finish line is in sight. Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat
What a great moment, time for the champagne! I just read the entire thread and enjoyed seeing the progress. You'll be on the road before long. Did you put the sniffer tubes back in the exhaust? I found those make tuning the carbs much easier once you find an old CO meter.
The sniffer tubes were long gone and were just blanked with bolts unfortunately. I have a four tube manometer I will try using to balance the carbs. Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat
That's too bad: the manometer allows you to balance the carbs, but the sniffer tubes allow you to set the idle mixture and follow the early phases of the transition to the main jets. A bit like a lambda probe on each cylinder. I remanufactured mine out of bronze tubing, it's not very difficult.
I was about to post the same, that they are more helpful with Fuel/Air adjustment, there should be some "out there" and as you mention it's not a complicated assembly! My old Tech simply used the glass spark plugs, he never used the tubes individually, it just had to PASS "collectively" at the exhaust tips, for State Testing
Congrats on your start up. That engine is idling like a Swiss watch. Obviously very high attention to detail during assembly and initial baseline settings. Very impressive work.
Lids on. Not enjoying setting latches so they don’t stick shut. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat
All latches adjusted. Removing tail light lenses helped peace of mind on rear trunk. Last pic shows the adjustment that worked on my car. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat
Door interior panels fitted. Yeah I know, not original door trim. Heretic that I am. Going in for carpets tomorrow. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat
Have an empty bay in my shop for first time in 5 years. Feels weird. Image Unavailable, Please Login Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat

Carpet looks very nice - what vendor did you get them from? Are you pleased with the fit or were there any issues? Did you install any underlayment (1/2" felt)?
I bought the carpet then had my upholsterer cut the pieces to fit the car and sew the binder. He removed the factory heal pads from my original carpets and reused them. I will take some better pictures. He does really nice work. The sheepskin seatcovers are for a Mondial that I bought off ebay NOS. He unpicked the seams and then tailored them to the more narrow GT4 seats. Feels very ‘70s! Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat
My first reaction on those seat covers was: what?! Ten seconds later, I'm thinking, those are *on fire*. So on point for the seventies and just look great. And I'm so glad the carpet matches the drapes. I wasn't sure how you'd tie in those sweet blue plaids and you nailed it. Looks absolutely phenomenal.
