Ta. My ambitions have been tempered somewhat, by the market going crazy, and a very large deal I had falling through, but I'd still like to winkle out a QV some day...
Ralph Laurens LP5000s DLA12657 is also for auction 1984 Lamborghini Countach 5000 S by Bertone | Las Vegas | RM Sotheby's (rmsothebys.com)
It's not the same car, this crashed one is 1360 having a temporary italian registration like the yellow one, whereas the second white pace car is 1314 - which was JC Mimrans car (Geneva registred) and this is the one curated had. Lamborghini Countach Pace Cars in Monaco GP 1981-1983
Correction, the second white car looks like being CLA12501, also to Mimrans, you can see in the picture with Vale behind the car the LP5000S door panels like on 1312 and 1314.
Found this last night, seems to have quite a few useful parts being re-made https://www.facebook.com/checkpoint/828281030927956/?next=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.facebook.com%2Fbuythehorns%2Fphotos%2F
I have never seen a front frame extension like the one on this car in photo #47. My only guess is that it was an early DOT modification to facilitate the front bumper support. It will be interesting to see what the car brings. Personally I do not believe it having been owned by Ralph Lauren will have much of an affect on the sale price IMO.
Honestly, its surprising that its still red, whereas RL is known to have his car repainted in black ignoring the history - eg.on the Bugatti Atlantic which was still in its original light blue until he bought it - now its ugly black.
Interior probably smells like Polo! That will be interesting to see. Anymore, I have no idea what they are worth.
Mario Andretti car. Mario had a 5000s also. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
