yes you push the microswitch lever towards the microswitch body as you have indicated. You're also correct that loosening the screw would allow me to move the microswitch closer to the capote mechanism hopefully creating good contact. But why did that get out of alignment to begin with?
Well the car wins..... Its going to the shop. When trying to open the top to resync the capote flap on the driver's side the top was acting a bit odd. So I went to put it back up, well the passenger capote didn't go down as the top went up and it cracked one of the mounting points. Taking it to my mech to see if it can be repaired, if not its a $900 part unless I find a good one on ebay. Then it goes to a Porsche upholstery place to get all the straps replaced. $3,300. I screwed it all up. Live and learn.
Ouch. I have seen photos of repaired flaps on the forum, but what part is broken? Will it need to be repainted. A new one certainly will.
Do they now make them out of aluminium? https://exoticautorecycling.com/product/ferrari-360-lh-left-convertible-top-flap-afm-aluminium-new-p-n-66462000-2/
Its all an experience that is for sure and you have a very good understanding now of how it works and will be able to keep it operating perfectly soon enough.
Its the bottom mounting point. The other two points are ok, the big point (the biggest piece of crappy plastic) on the roller, has a crack, but JB weld can reinforce it as it is far from breaking all the way through.
I bought the new one from Eurospares, and the eurospare approved flap is in fact aluminum. My friend has a body shop and is painting it as we speak. My mech will reattach it, replace the left flap cable (pretty sure I broke it too ugh....) and then off to the shop to have the straps on the top redone, as those are totally out of my wheelhouse. Been down since July, lets see if I can get it up and running before spring haha
Hello, I am having this same issue too, I have traced it down to the flap microswitch EFA not being triggered all the way (not clicking) when retracting in the body. Therefore the next sequence (top rood frame coming out) cannot operate. I have taken these photos showing in up position and in down(retracted position). Can anyone suggest how the alignment should be of this microswitch?
