I just received the 1/24th Hachette Ferrari D50 and the body and tires are superb, even better that the FPPM kit. The FPPM brakes and wheels are much better of course and the FPPM has a motor. I made the FPPM into the Monaco car and this Hachette will be the Nurburgring winner. So three D50's in my collection including the pictured French GP test D50 I posted.

According to internal Centauria sources, the 1/24th Ferrari F1 series will reach 80 issues and this is the list of the remaining from number 40 to 60 : -125 1950 -625 1954 -256 1959 -312-66 1966 -312-69 1969 -312 B2 1971 -126 C3 1983 -F1-93 1993 -412T1 1994 -F310 1996 -F310B1997 -F2001 -F2004 -F10 2010 -SF-15T 2015 -SF70H 2017 -SF90 2019 -F1-75 2022 Sainz -SF23 Monza 2023 -SF23 Las Vegas 2023 -Ferrari F1 2024
AMAZING! Some of these would fill important gaps. But there are still many gaps left. I hope they will do the 80 issues
I have been following this thread for a long time and am curious how would I purchase one of these models (1959 Ferrari 256)? Is EBay the only option or is there a European hobby shop that sells to the US? Is it still standard procedure that a sale to the USA does not require the VAT so the price is lower? And is there a way to avoid the outrageously expensive shipping charge? Thanks.
This guy in France is pretty cheap, $50.00 including shipping. Yes no one carries these in the USA, so only ebay Europe with no VAT. f1 1/24 | eBay
Thanks Tom. Is there a way that I can find out he release date for the 256 or do I just keep an eye on that EBay site?
Here is the Ferrari list. You can't buy from this website unless you live in Italy, so ebay is the only option. The 1970's and 1980's cars seem to be the most well made, although the 1950's and 1960's cars are also very good. The later cars vary, especially if they are made by Burago and not Hachette. Ferrari 246 F1 1958 champion in 1/24th. Another very nice honest effort by Hachette that will need new wire wheels. Jason Hupin (= Jack modelling, from France) as pointed out by Scudetto1959 makes some very very nice 3D printed 1/24th wire wheel replacements. Check the modeling thread. Tom, I couldn´t find any matching wire rims at Jason´s website neither at his ebay shop. Are you going to put GTO wheels on that car?
Use the correct diameter and wire style and size them up. This car had 16 inch wheels if I remember correctly so 1 inch larger than GTO. They have a diameter selection on the ebay auctions or email him direct.
And always measure the size of the model wheels, do not go by the real car diameter! (This advice is also mentioned by Jack in his Ebay adds).
Whatever makes the model look correct, but be careful as alot of diecast makers including Hachette make the models wheels way off size so they look wrong. Technomodel is the worst for doing that.
It would help if at least the tires are the correct size on the model. You are correct that Technomodel is horrible. I discovered that the BBR wire wheels are also too large, but the tires look much better.
HACHETTE IN COMPARISON A couple of days I received a parcel with 4 Hachette models from Italy. 3 models of these I already had in my collection- by other makers. I simply wanted to replace lower quality models- or was curious, how Hachette competes or differs with the models I already have. Make up your own opinion. Comparison 1: F300 1998 – against F300 by Burago Hachette model is the one without bar codes. Note: not visible at the images: Hachette air intakes of side pods are closed, painted black. HACHETTE IN COMPARISON Comparison 2: F399 1999 – against F399 own creation Hachette model is #4 - without tabaco decals Early 2000´s I created this model on base of the Burago F300, with massive modifications to the body, which finally was replaced by a resine body. Also here Hachette side pods are closed and painted black. HACHETTE IN COMPARISON Comparison 3: F1 312B 1970– against 312B by MG-Models Hachette model is the one with the smaller blue wind shield. Note: images show, that the models have different sizes. Researches showed, that Hachette is right in scale, MG is a bit too small.
