It does have its original engine but it is sitting unrestored outside of the car. The American engine currently in the car is not running. How do you spell "money pit" ....... ?

I stopped scrolling after a couple of engine shots. At least it appears that they saved everything from the conversion.

That Bora is a parts car. The Mistral might be too!

The Ghibli looks like it can be brought back as long as the engine is internally in good shape, interior looks ok, some rust on the doors. I see spare doors are provided so I suppose a strip a respray and lots of other assemblies need tending to, suspension, gearbox? I like a good project, but ouch, this will devour a person.

And just under $54000 for the Mistral, which is utter madness in my opinion. I’m sure Gullwing had this car for ages and couldn’t shift it.
$77k for the Ghibli seems ok ish, although it will eat the fat end of $200k before it is anything like pristine. At least those prices would indicate that the cars won’t be parted out.

Was sort of shocked the Ghibli went so cheap, but the Bora seemed to go for about the right number. 'Project' Italian cars that have been sitting for decades make people do wild things. The 308 with a blown engine that auctioned on BaT recently was another example, there's no possible way people even break even with these things but these things can be an affair of the heart not the head.

it’s always the been affairs of the heart, if it wasn’t there wouldn’t be a single one of these cars sold.

    Apparently Gullwing purchased the Bora.

I think the color was fairly common. I have owned three Mistrals in that original color

Nice to know that rame metallizzato is/was reasonably popular on the Mistral. Funny that I rarely come across them. I wonder how many were repainted. It's a cool colour, suits the period. It also seems to be (re)appearing on some late model cars, I've noticed. History repeats.

Boring in yellow. Originally the car was much more appealing when in "oro" (gold) with brown leather....

That's a nice specimen. It certainly got repainted at some point. Zero details about any chassis refurbishment. Looks like a great preservation car.

Here's the stupid truth...the "seller/broker/vender" had this car advertised for $180K for quite some time then dropped the price for a few.

Then it was offered on Bring a Trailer/BaT and was bid to $155,000 with 100 dollar seller/broker/vender fees, and $5,000 buyers fees. No Sale.

The seller/broker/vender would not take less than $165,000. It is a nice Bora, in good colors,.....I offered to buy the car at a much higher price than the recent sale at $122,000, and was not so politely told that I didn't understand the Maserati market.

Apparently, I didn't and do not. You have a fair bid of $155K and that's not enough? Okay squeeze every penny out of it..., so you go "no reserve" and get $110.000 after fees etc.,...After having a locked in sale at $155,000, and substantial offers near that.????

"How to Screw Your Consigners and Lose" should be the title of his new book.

This Bora was well bought and congratulations to the new owner. Hopefully it was the original owner "buying" his car back from consignment.
